Photosynthesis and LEDS

We all know HIDs work but their power bill is enormous. This is why LEDS appeal to me as well as the customized rays.

If you've studied biology you know photons are actually what are harnessed from the light (in our case LEDS) to create electrons within the chlorophylls of the plant. These electrons then allow water to split into O2 and H. These Hs are then used for (1) (2) reasons:

(1) Hs are built up in a gradient to create mechanical energy which allows ADP to bond to ATP from an external floating phosphorus. This is known as photophosphorylation.

(2) Create NADPH from external NADP through an enzyme.

NADPH and ATP is then used in a whole other cycle to create carbohydrates (leaves, stems, buds, ect.) for the plant.

The creation of the actual plant begins with the light to the photon, this is where my education suspends my thinking. Is light a massive grouping of photons? How do photons get their energy and where specifically in the LED technology is this all dependent.
