thanks bro, i am really excited about pkush more in general now. its such an awesome fast grower. I think i could make a 'tree' of it, to combat the yield problem.

so I now see why its called 'train'wreck. that shit bends like gumby, it took one fucking day for a very helpful train. its growing super fast as well, can't wait to check it tonight. this is about the 1st and 2nd pics.

the rest are the buds, one pk and two mendo shots. I added about 5 more stakes to the mendo, more to come one day. the stakes also help to aerate the soil, added bonus.

Yea man, you can just about tie that shit in a knot, but just wait... When it starts budding... Then you will truly know why its called Train Wreck. LOL I cant tell the difference between a side cola and a main cola they are all big and they are all over the place like a train wreck but I think It got its name from the high.

Tell ya what, if PK doesn't work out, TW will be my main strain for a while. So far it has grown faster, larger and finished faster then anything I have ever grown. And what do ya know, I found out today its Humboldt genes.

damn, that is exciting. i was thinking i actually would tie one into a knot just for fun, do you think it would be too retarded this way?

the original TW actually comes from Arcata, CA. here's where it got its name: a bunch of dudes were growing on an arcata hillside (in the late 80s i think) near some train tracks. there was a big trainwreck near their spot, so they had to pull all of their plants early so the cleanup crews didn't find them. the growers assumed that the plants (which had been budding for roughly 50 days) were going to be all early and fucked up, but they realized it was done, and it PACKED A PUNCH! hence, trainwreck as its name. the strain is supposedly 20% Columbian, 10% Mexican, and 70% Thai.

Ha, No kidding. Thats a good story I will remember it.

I don't know if the grows faster part has to do with the aero, I have to think so but still. I look at the buds now at week six and I have harvested buds that looked like this before at eight weeks. They still need to fill out some though and they got a couple weeks to do it.

Thai huh?
Man that takes you places, I haven't smoked that in years!

i have noticed TW's vigor even in dirt, its magnificent.
and as for the strain, the original was significantly thai, but i doubt that very many people have this true TW. its clone only and is called TW arcata cut.
pics soon.

so i felt active this evening, so i snapped some pics of the budding plants. openning the closet I was greeted by the trainwreck... that grew a fucking inch in a day. I am impressed and cant wait for it to turn over.

also, that kush is crazy covered in sweet stoney powder... it's truly awe inspiring.

sorry for the shitty pics on these two, but here are the trainwreck and the big kush for starters.

I had read on cruzers grow that he had tried trimming all of the fan leaves off of a plant with great results. so i 'borrowed' the idea.

the first two pics show the small kush that I experimented on before i cut it up, only one plant for now.

the results of the pruning.

we'll see how it goes, esp. cause i have an equal sized plant to compare it too.

honestly ive done pretty well staying on the cheap side, I still consider these grows mostly research. when i get more space with more everything, co2 will be VERY high on my list. I should ghetto it just for kicks though. :peace:

quick random update...
my first white widow clone, from the crown of the healthiest one, has popped roots. after only a couple days (which is pretty good for the rooter pellets).
the crazy thing is that I didn't use rooting hormone on accident. maybe i'll stop using it all together.

nice plants love the crazed out camel. kind of curious of what your feed and lighting program is. Ive been growing for about 6 years steady now and just moved back home to southern cali where I can grow legally. I have Lemon skunk. Strawberry blue x2, platinum haze, grape haze, purple haze, soma seeds lavender and LA confidential all are clones I bought in the last week and will soon have pics up. Would like to know how much you feed and when plus a few other Q's. thanx

hey dude, glad to have you here. I'll answer questions like crazy, and feel free to send me a pm.
I love LA confidential, and all those other strains are bomb! good luck w/ that.
in terms of feeding, I always go half strength maximum, usually 1/8 strength to start out with. I use Flora Nova Bloom primarily, and foxfarm grow big for veg. my potential additives are humic acid, molasses, supernova, dark energy, and goat urine..... jk.

Ha!

I liked the goat in the backpack myself.

Grows lookin good. Once that plant that you removed the fan leaves is done and have compared the smoke, both with and without. Let us know what you think OK?

haha, looks like its time for another avatar. i really have no idea why i go with goats, guess it just seems hilarious when I'm high...

in terms of that trimmed up plant I can already see it getting WAY more light penetration, I predict a huge successbongsmilie. I love having a bunch of similar plants so I get to experiment a ton!

OMFG, the mendo's trichs are done. i hadn't even looked before tonight, but all the trichs are cloudy, deep amber, or clear amber. I'm trimming right now, just taking a break. I'm harvesting half of the plant tonight, half TBA. :peace:

I knew i forgot something in post one... I'm using a 600w HPS w/ a batwing reflector.
I veg for different times, the mendo was vegging for several months, the kushs for a month-ish, the small kushs for two weeks, etc.
the next generation will have vegged much longer than the previous, I just really wanted to fill up the closet with flowering plants asap.

also, for my own records: today at 11 AM the TW is 5 inches over the stake, at the growth tip.
