I would use both as results from the hybrid bulbs are excellent. I am using both 1000w MH & HPS in my grow room and this is the first time but I can see the ones closest to the MH are a little larger than the ones with just HPS. IMHO

You fuckin me nukka? Use both, if you can handle the heat issues. More is generally better. I would save the second 1000W, the HPS, until those plants are a little more mature so they can actually process that amount of lumens. The MH's spectrum will be more useful in veg than in flower, but during budding, having that MH running is golden; the UVB will greatly stimulate resin production and, from what I'm told, even enhance the high itself. I'm throwing a 1kw MH in with my 1kw HPS right now, I just have to work out the logistics because heat can become a big issue in such a small area.

Yeah that's what I figured. What I wanna do is maybe hang one of them vertical or maybe even shine one up from the bottom so I can cover every inch of the plants without bending chopping ect. I'm lazy lol. Any ideas/suggestions? I have good exhaust and ac so I doubt heat will be an issue. I'm new to indoor. First insoor was done with a 400 hps, second with a 1000 mh. Now I have a 1000 hps to throw in and I'm not sure how to go about this lol.

Ooooh, I have unfortunate news for you. Unless you have a vertical bulb, I would not recommend that. Those bulbs are made to be suspended in a horizontal fashion, any other way will be bad for your bulbs and severely reduce the bulb's efficiency.

Personally I'd run one during veg and one during flower (obviously MH for veg, HPS for flower). Great set up though, if you can cool them fine I don't think it'd hurt to run both. Should get massive yield with that big of system though. Congrats on grabbing one, I would if I had the space/money/time.

I'm envious.

Bought both of em from craigslist for super cheap. 160 for whole mh setup and 220 for whole hps setup. Couldn't pass up those prices. Can't the hps be hung vertical without needing a "vertical" bulb? I figured id hang the hps vertical about halfway down the plants and leave the mh above em. Or maybe vise versa idk.

Lol ur paying too much. I did the math for what my electric company charges for this area and its only 50 a month per 1k watts. I think even a moron could grow 100 bucks worth a month using 2k. I aim a tad higher than that =)

I'm not paying to much...

No one has a choice for what they get charged per kwh lol.. I pay on average 9 cents per kwh which is on the low end of prices. East coast averages somewhere around 15 cents as does cali... Hawaii pays 30 cents (ouch)

Also I calculated for 20on/4off lighting. Its less on 12/12.

All I was sayin is if you dont mind the bill then go for it. Some people dont have the extra cash to spend until they harvest. I was in that position my first go around
