Plant went from healthy and lush to dead in 48 hours

Hello,

I have a grow going my first in a couple years, I recently hooked up my irrigation,and gave them thier first auto water the next day one plant was showing signs like I over watered I unplugged irrigation,and let dry out but she just shriveled. I'm in straight coco so I didn't think overwatering was going to be an issue but that's what it looked like to me. Any other thoughts?

You can not overwater coco on a plant that size. So what was in the water? We need a lot more information to help, thanks.

I'm gonna take a wild guess that there are stored up nutes in your medium and when you got the medium truly wet...BAM...everything went into solution and ppm's went off the chart...frying the plant.

I had just switched to bloom nutrients ec of 2.6, I did just switch from veg nutrients that were being given at 1.9 ec, remo nutrients im on run 5 or 6 using as directed on bottle with no issues.

Flipped it 4 days ago, and hooked up irrigation but while dialing it in I accidentally ran through to run off of 120% or so for 2 days. Before that I had been feeding by hand with watering wand, and flow meter giving them .75 gallons ( in a 3 gal pot) run of of 10-20%.

I had been watering quite throughly to runoff with a watering wand to run off before irrigation

Gotcha. FWIW...I rarely...if ever...run my nutes that hot. My only other thought is if there was something fungal/etc. hiding in your freshly revived irrigation system. Either way...i hope ya figure things out.

I actually had the same thought about the fungal thing, but my watering wand uses the same plumbing as my irrigation plus i flushed it all with bleach prior to using any of it, and I replaced the 1/4 " do I'm really at a loss. Unless when I over watered something worked its way from the drain hose. My roots were pearly white when I chucked the plant this morning

Osmosis issue. High EC related.

OK maybe an emergency flush is needed tonight for the remaining 5

I still lean that way as well. Nothing fries plants that fast but fert or 120F heat, IMO.

@crazycarp ...I would urge you to try a grow using their feed chart...but cut the recommended fert dose down to 1/3-1/2 of what they say. Hit em everytime. Check runoff ppm every-so-often. Adjust as needed. Do a bloom booster week 5-7....again...being easy with the nutes. Works here.

Speaking of an osmolar diuresis was that sodium hypochlorite or calcium and how did you rinse the bleach and what concentration. All simply rhetorical now. I think flushing with a low osmolar solution (say 0.5 EC on a 500 meter scale or 0.3 on a 700 meter) is a good idea. Best of luck and I hope you figure out what happened.

64 degrees is pretty low, I'm hoping that the reading was taken at first lights on, otherwise you really need to raise the temps about 15-20 degrees.

So before you were automated , you were watering how often?

You can make low temperatures (low transpiration) work if you use a higher concentration nute solution. 2.5 EC isn't out of the range a plant can take. I'm not really sure what is going on here.

Isn't that the temp of the nutrients on that guardian?
