plants curling down... help!

so i planted a bunch of bag seeds (for some practice before i planted my good seeds i bought) that i germinated and they all came up with the seed still attached, but then i looked at them the next day and they had turned upside down and they were curling back down into the soil. they all had long roots and i sprayed them with water a few times a day, but now they just look like a white arch above the soil.
what did i do? and help would be great!
thanks

If they're curling down - you mean the leaves? Curled down leaves means stop watering now..
It's easy to hover over a first grow and overwater. If that's the case don't water and watch the leaves - when they begin to lift up - towards the light - that's when you need to water 'em.
If the soil looks crusted or parched spray just the soil (barely) but don't spray the leaves - and don't overdo it that's all.
Hope they make it thru,
sherry

well actually there arent any leaves yet, its just like the root just broke above the soil and the hard outer part of the seed is still attached. maybe i didnt plant them deep enough? i have no idea.
they dont have any leaves or even the cotyledons (sp?) yet though, hopefully soon. if they dont die.

Yea man, the seed will eventually come off. I've had this happen before and took em off with a set of tweezers very carefully. So if it's been a couple days and it ain't commen off, try it yourself.

ok thanks grnman. the only thing im worried about is why they are curling down... there is just the white root coming out of the soil and then it just flips around and grows back downward!

Well herbtoker, i've had a few in the past do that - looks like they're headin back to Hades (the soil i mean) - see if they 'turn' and start reaching for the light; they should correct themselves - unless the roots are saturated or you added nutes - post again tomorrow - let everyone know where they're headed.
Don't panic though, ok? I know it's hard not to panic sometimes - i sure remember pulling my hair out - i was bald for a bit there, you know, with my first grow.

this happend to one of my seedlings. it didnt curl back into the soil. the seed was just stuck on top for about 2 days. i took it off earlier today, and it looks like its doin much better already... yours will prolly come back up through the soil. thats of course if it hasnt died
