2 1/2 weeks into flowering, plants are getting too tall, some top branches even touched the hood, but the lamp is already at its highest position, no room in between it and ceiling to lift it up, so I tied some top branches 3'' down to avoid more light burn. as u all can see the plants are very bushy so I could not tie down the tops too much otherwise they will block the light for lower bud sets. top buds are still healthy now, but will it damage the top buds just like it burnt the top leaves while the buds getting larger?

I had this problem last grow. Top of the plats got to hot and they turned Hermie on me. Just too much stress on the plants. Whats the temp at the top of your plants?

Im not sure but the tent temp is around 77-86F, my hood is aircooled so I can touch it with my hand no problem, I'd say it's about 90F at the bottom of the hood. I dont have air conditioning in the grow room, so the best the exhaust fan can do is to keep the tent temp just a few degrees above the room temp, and u know it's summer now.... and the humidity is also a pain in my ass now, as the temp raises, the humidity raises too!! last thursday it even reached 90%!! I put a 2gal pot that's full of lime powder into the tent hope it could dehumidify the tent a bit, it did but not as I expected, still around 70%. I got no more money to improve the environment for em girls, actually Im waiting for this harvest to bring me money.

Well your plants are going to grow a few more inches so you have a few options.
1) you could top your plants and re-vege the cuttings.
2)you could LST your plants and do a horizontal grow.
3)you could cut a hole in the top of your tent and make modifications so the light can be raised.
4) and finally you could try and scrog your plants even though its a little late.

hey thx man, but none of these is practical for my situation now...
1) I thought of clone the tops, but I don't have the proper tools and another light source to take care of clones.
2) LST is too late and I don't feel there is enough room to let em go horizontally either.
3) that would be nuts and I can not figure a way out how to hang the light outside the ceiling.
4) If u read my earlier thread, u'd known that this grow is suppose to be a scrog and that's why I built the tent with this height. the problem is, I've never scrog'ed b4 and screwed up this time, I put down the screen a bit late and the screen messed up all branches so I had to lift it up and go back to a normal grow.

I think I'll just tie em lower every 2-3 days and lose some small lower bud sets, at least it's better than lose the main bud sets on the tops.
and oh, next grow is gonna be a scrog!!!

Plants look good. Ican see what you mean not being able to tie down anymore. You have to invest in a cooltube as the plants then can be a few inches away. Atm your buds will burn up and potentially start a fire in there bro. Get the cooltube. $120 approx, 'aircooled' wont work. :fire:
