Plants with very subtle smell [HELP]

Hey guys i've started a grow in 2020 and i'm still learning how to get proper buds, one thing that is concerning me is that my plants doesn't stink at all, they all have the same mellow subtle smell even doe i'm growing different strains from different breeders...

My setup is pretty good for my needs, i have a 4x4 tent for veg with a COB Vero29 Panel and a flower box of 4x8 with 2 QuantumBoards Samsung 480w, i also have AC so my temps are always on the low side around 70F...

I've tried different breeders and had the same results in terms of smell and flavor, tried Solfire Gardens, Exotic Genetix and some local breeders crosses with plants of good breeders... So what i'm saying is that i've tried so far at least 30 plants and didn't find any good that smell like dank weed and taste dank... The buds looks dank, resin on point, but quality wise it's a 0. The plants doesn't stink at all and i'm talking about flower cycle and harvest...

So my conclusion is: I'm doing something wrong and i need help to know what i'm missing...

I'm growing on COCO / Perlite (50-50), 2 gallon pots, chemical ferts (i've been using General Hydroponics but changed to Plantprod recently), my pH is always set on 5.8, everything is fine... Only one note here: I can't drain my run-off so the pots are in contact with the run-off water which is little (Maybe that could be a reason ?)... Before harvest i always do flush for 10-14 days till the leaves are yellowing and i measure the run-off ppm which goes to around 100ppm...

I've tried organic no-till too, the buds had the same smell and flavor which is none they were just a little smoother... My smoke is smooth and the ashes are pretty grey/white, so i think flush is not the point...

Another note that i think it's important: I was drying "wrong" my buds were drying in around 5 days... Learned that i need to control temperature and humidity to slow down the drying process... But as i said the plants doesn't stink even at flower...

I think i gave all the info needed to figure something out, if you guys need more info tell me... There's some pictures of my buds on attach files

chlorophyll can drown out that dank smell while they are growing. So that’s one thing you can consider. Other than that you need to have a long proper dry and cure. Curing is where you will “make your money”. A proper cure will bring out the taste and smell in your buds. Aim for a 10-15 day dry by keeping your environment dark, at 55-60% humidity and in the mid 60’s in terms of temps. Your cure should be about 3 weeks long at 58-62% humidity inside your sealed jars. Burp a couple times a day for the first week, once a day for the 2nd week, and the 3rd week you can burp every so often maybe every other day or so.

@Lowkeygardener Hey man thanks for stopping by... Yeah my drying process was messed up i'm going to fix it now, my new harvest is coming in next weeks

@twentyeight.threefive Hey man i take a pill called Quetiapin, but what's the relation ?
There was another grower recently taking anti-psychotic medicine and he couldn't get high. I was curious and maybe there is a relation.

If you’re around the plants a lot you could just be used to it.

I know half my house stinks but I can’t even tell anymore unless I’m right up in them or smelling my fingers after touching them.

@A.k.a Hey that could be a reason being nose blind but i don't live in the same house as my grow, it's two separate houses a few meters away one from another, i just go to the grow 3 - 4x times a week for a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour just to feed them, clear them etc...

@curious2garden No man that's not the case, i brought samples to friends and they told me the same thing no terps...

Guys another thing that i noticed is that my plants are not sticky when i rub my fingers on the resin it barely stick to my finger

What strains are you running? Bump your temps to the proper level.
The plants look crazy. is it some variety of Poison? Trop poison?

When are you rubbing the buds to check for stick? While they are growing?

Coco is harder to pull flavor, you have to be real nice with it.
I'm guessing here but.... Chances are you're running water through it for too long at the end and too early.
If I had to guess you started running water weeks early. Especially in coco.

This is when the terpenes really put on stink. I can still see pistil formation so if those pics were when you were running water through it, you may have inhibited some development when it needed more food.

I will increase the PH in flower. so from your 5.8 I would be at 6.0 - 6.2

Just something I do. Maybe you can try it.

That's usually genetics. The pot we smoked in the 1960s and 1970s wasn't sticky and didn't smell like it does today but it had smell.

The actual nutrient that increases scent in pot is Sulphur. Thanks @Dr. Who

I was going to say the same - but he said all the strains he runs are coming out like that

Could be an over exaggeration :blsmoke:

Then he needs more Sulphur.

Edited to add you can also fuck up the drying/curing. I dry within about a day give or take 12 hours. Then I jar and burp daily or a couple times a day for about a week and the smell comes back. If you jar too soon or don't burp you can have issues. That's why it's easier with a long slow dry and a longer 'burping' but you can do the same quickly but it requires attention.

@Alter Jean Yeah man i'm running 3 fem Exotic's Peanut Butter N Chocolate (Dosidos x Mint Chocolate Chip) and 5 or 6 fem Paradise Circus (Tropicanna Cookies x Tina) none of them is producing terps (got them from original regular packs)

I'm controlling the plants now with a board so i know exactly the day they're now, hope that my plants come out good this time (i'm on week 5-6 with my current grow)

@curious2garden Hey man i've been reading alot about Sulphur ... Didn't knew it was used to boost terpenes, i've added a few products on my schedule that have Sulphur, Floralicious Plus, Dry KB and i'm thinking of add Sulfate potassium and Sulfate Magnesium... The new fertilizer that i'm using PlantProd (7-11-27) has 5,6% of Sulphur...

Guys i'm all about trying what you tell me so if you have any any advice it's great for me... So far people here have been helping me a lot, i'm improving a lot of things on my grow as a grill to the floor so plants keep up without getting in touch with run-off, i've added a dehumidifier too so i can drop humidity to 30% late flowering to boost terps... Now i know about Sulphur and i'm reading every nutrient label to know if there's Sulfur...

I don't know if i can save my crop cos i'm on 5-6 week of flowering and i don't know if the plants will respond in time to change anything... But i'm 100% sure that my next run which will be (Biscotti x [Gelato33 x Don Mega]) + 4 Bodhi clones of (Gorilla Glue#4 x Wookies) will be fire, i'm trying really hard

Your plants look really healthy so to me it looks like you are a light feeder.
Which is not particularly a bad thing.

Props on the Second picture of the plant there. The one with the fan leaf buds. But like I said if you're running water at that stage they are still trying to develop. The plant there has at least 2-3 more weeks in it.

But seriously that's some plant porn..
