Honestly ... the problem was just everything that was wrong working against you. high humidity, over watering, terrible soil, bad ph levels, and also your set up with cans and milk bottles. You really need to have bigger pots so that way the soil can soak up more water and the plant generally gets a a little bit at a time instead of getting it all at once (which happens in small pots) and then having none for a really long time. You are over watering and then starving them which isn't exactly healthy. Also you should really tell us what kind of herb you are growing since different herb likes different temperatures.

and if you can get some pics up of the insects we might be able to help you more on it lol. (just try and zoom as much as you can). and getting a pic of the entire room it's in might give us a better idea of how your set up is and what might need improvements.

Do some research on the basics of growing and develop a step by step process - ask question along the way. Once you develop a method for yourself it will not be long before you enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Well, I've figured out my watering schedule i think. Still in the process of figuring it out actually, but it seems good.

One thing though, the new seedlings are now kind of wilting. I think it's heat stress, but i'm letting them get a bit drier in case i'm overwatering again. I haven't been keeping them very wet though, just moist. But i also backed the lights off an inch and will get more lights and a fan.

Really, only the three bigger ones are wilted looking. So maybe it is the watering, i just checked and they are the heaviest.

I'll let them get drier, maybe they'll like it more.

And I don't know what strain they are, but i think they're white rhino mostly. I've got pics of the bugs but i can't find them on my computer right now. i'll post them when they're found.

rya: your plants look magnesium deficient. get epson salt. its cheap. follow directions in growFAQs. water and foliar feed. they will recover. some strains need extra mag. my white widow did from one week old. now i use a little at every feeding, just in case.

well, in some photos, it looks nitrogen deficient. hard to tell from these pics but mag usually has leaves curling up (praying to the god of magnesium, so they say). but additives for both deficiencies wouldn't hurt your plants, just in case.

if you seedling has a deficiency and you have ideal ph and conditions, it might be a sign of a plant that feeds heavily on that nutrient. all my WW needed more mag at early stages. and all of them needed extra Nitrogen at mid flowering.

ph test nutrients AND your runoff water for acurate soil checking when there are problems. good luck.

well, it could be a deficiency come to think of it. my last batch started yellowing after a little more than a week, and these new ones are starting to go at the same time.

i just would think the soil has the nutes to keep the plants healthy for a lot longer than 1 week.

I thought for sure this was overwatering but the plants still seem to be getting worse, even though they are pretty dry. the leaves have perked up right in the middle, around the new shoot and node, but remain droopy everywhere else, and the leaves are yellowing from the bottom up and ouside in. just like before.

so it has to be ph or nutes or something. i still have to get a ph meter and stuff before i can check that though.

well it either means your soil is already soaked and its just pushing out water that was in there already, or it could mean that the soil is so dry that the water just goes past most of it, or it could just have really good drainage.
