just curious if anyone knows about plasma grow lighting.....Chameleon Grow Systems has some very interesting data and results on their website at plasmagrowlighting.net saying that their 500w plasma light outperforms 600w HPS....more energy and cost efficient....just everything that i've read says that plasma lighting is the best light source available.....i could really use some input from any and everyone that has any knowledge on this subject thanks everyone!
Oh i almost forgot the most interesting line i read from their website is "More Full-Spectrum Nutritional Sun-Light Energy than any other Grow Light on the Planet!" thanks in advance for your input!

The regular looks like it's lacking red. The one with additional red I bet is led. I've been interested in plasma but not at those prices. Though that's by far the most power for price I've seen

I'd probably put that money into 600w of cree cxa3070. That way you can spread out lights for more uniform coverage.

And the red ones lose their red after less time than a hps lamp degrades.
Plasma (unless it's sulphur plasma and for the home user I think sulphur is a pricey IF you can find it) . Even gavita which are known for pioneering plasma will tell you it's only for supplement, you'll still need a 1kw hps to run alongside.
Personally I'm not waiting for sulphur plasma and will be moving to LEC and already have the LED that will combo with it.
Chameleon didn't come up with the 4 supplement kessil onboard the one unit for no reason.

My grow with 4 Gavita DE fixtures and 2 plasma's. First grow using these lamps but I like it so far so good. This is Nirvana Wonder Woman with Haze#1 and Master Kush in the background. Starting week 6 of 12/12 today. I'm pleased so far.

I want plasma lights to get better and out do hps

personally I don`t like the colour of hps I can take 3000k but anything warmer is just too orange for me to deal with lol

I think at the moment 4K MH bulbs make a better supplementary light then plasma`s do considering the prices

but I`d love the day when you can just buy a 1000w plasma "bloom" light and get 2kg`s from it... maybe in 10 years or so ?

I don't know guys......it really does look like it's the future of indoor growing. I mean it's basically your own personal sun....There are testimonials from horticulture professors with PHDs from different universities...I also heard a Vegas radio interview that was really informative on their product and by the end of the interview the hosts were sold on it and trying to get some plasma lights in Vegas. I know that upfront cost seems like a lot but I think you would have to look at it like a hybrid vehicle...you pay more for them up front so in the long run you will be saving on gas. I mean if you're a serious grower and this is what you do..the electricity savings in the first 2-3 years pays for the light (sorry i'm a numbers guy)

that's a nice looking grow you got there Dadio! (as a man...that almost made me uncomfortable to say) lol

Konassure Chameleon says they are already outperforming HPS from studies in 2 different grows in two totally different places

Thanks. The Gavita 41.01 supplemental emitter style plasmas that I am using have a 50,000 hour usable life, if I use it for say 1500 hours per grow, and that's generous, I can get 33 grows out it before I need to send it back to Gavita for capsule replacement.(That is a hassle, but one I'll put up with.) For the cost of a grand per, it's a steal over the lifetime. I am pretty sure the life expectancy is similar with other plasma lamps using the same capsule.

Yeah I guess

Like I said I`m not a fan of hps, but it works, just due to how efficient hps is, the spectrum of hps is pretty crap, lots of orange that`s only half good

but its efficient you get a lot of light for what you put in, so much so that it`s got so popular that most indoor strains have been bread to grow under hps, and some of them even like that orange glow better then sunlight because they have been selectively bread for it

The big down side to the Gavita apart from having to send it back to get fix and that it`s not a full bloom light is this

If it went missing or the cops too it

Jeeze, I mean they take some good leds and you`d want to cry

they take a hps and you`ll have a new one for almost nothing

but if you need to replace a plasma or it go`s missing

and then you`ll be a real weed snob like if it really grows way better weed you won`t use anything else

I mean led`s aren`t even fully there yet there just starting to out do hps but not on cost

Plasma lights look great but they need to get cheaper and more user friendly I think

I`d love to try one but

I don`t really want to pay more then £1 per watt for any kind of light

Great looking plants! To bad nirvana sucks... atleast thier master kush does..

Frankly so far it does not look as good as the others, but there is time left. I have seen some good mk from them in the past. I had to go from seed on this grow, as my clones were not ready.
