Not having that much of a chance to try out LED as yet.
Tried the cheapo ones. DON'T DO IT!!
Just going through first veg period with good ones. There great that great having trouble with internode gaps. Lights are now 3 foot off the canopy
480 watts over a 8 foot x 4 foot area and just starting to get some stretch.

Now we have plasma lights coming on the market
one company has an 1100 watt that covers a 13 foot x 13 foot square but looks like a good head height is needed. Spectrum graph attached

Noticed on Alibaba they are selling 100/200 watt plasma's will be interesting to see how they perform once they get into grow rooms

I am very skeptical about these lights. Typically when I have seen LEP in use it was only as supplemental lighting. Let us know how it performs for you. I suspect you will need really high ceilings to use one over a 10 x 10 foot area as they state. I would really wanna see a PPFD diagram of the 10 x 10 foot area covered by one of these lights. It seems too good to be true, covering a 10 x 10 foot area with only one light.

Here’s my local buddy who runs them. I can get him to take some ppfd numbers today.

Everything “new” is always met with skepticism. They aren’t really that new for one. And if they where that great I feel like the community is big enough right now many would be using them

Don't believe the hype, Alibaba is the biggest Asian Wholesale Website, they will tell you anything to sell their wares, knowing them, they may even through in some Covid 19 for good measure.

Who’s being abusive? I didn’t see anyone. And this tech has been out for years. If it was going to be the next thing I feel like it would already be a thing. I’m sure people have luck with it. People have luck with many things.

I remember like 10 years ago a local hydro shop tried to push plasma on me saying it was the newest best thing. Like 6 months later they stopped selling them because they weren't that popular and hard to sell.

They're not new, unless new styles of bulbs have come out in the last 10 years I'd save your money.
-edit- I mean different spectrums and brands of bulbs, wasn't like Any on the market back then.

No not you though there are plenty that are abusive. they may have been out for many years, now with saving electricity, chinese production, these things are coming out more and now cheap enough for peeps to buy.
The 1100 watts units are more for the commercial farmer though reckon the 100/200 watts will be good for home use. from what i was reading the green spectrum they put out gives a greater depth of penetration and grows bud further down the stem.

Gavita was selling them 10 years ago
At what costs? probably way out of most hobbyists budget back then. With Chinese production there pretty much cheap as chips nowadays. waiting to see the outcome from LED will certainly give these a go for sure.

Being a little clever you can buy from Alibaba as samples guys. Get your P.I.N. number Personal Import Number. from .gov uk join Alibaba and order samples you cannot get them cheaper anywhere else.
