So far growing with MH\HPS -2 units of 250w each
Grow space 1m X 1m X 2mHeight
Soil + organic nutes.
Mediterranian climate - winter 10c-18c,summer 23c-30c
So far i get good results for small plants (arround 2oz a plant and growing 4-6 plants) im growing mostly
In winter as my lights heat the room well up to 22-25c-perfect condition, when lights are off i use 450w oil Radiator
with digital thermostat to get from 16c to above 20c - also works well so i dont let my room drop below 17c even at cold nights of 8c.
At peak summer i am avoiding indoor grow due to overheating in the grow room-sometimes i go outdoor and Sometimes not at all.
Considering now applying LED lighting for summer and\or winter.
Would like to have as many opinions as possible about which to buy:

1 unit of PlatinumLED P450 - i heard thats the real thing and covers my room well
OR
2 units of GalaxyHydro 600
OR
1 or two units of ViparSpectra 900 or 600

OR other recommendations.

Cheers

None of those.

East of your money. You should buy timber grow lights, Tasty led or northern grow lights.

If you can't afford the lower priced timber grow lights then buy hid

These are 4 clones vegged and now flowering under one of my galaxyhydro 600w.
People will talk shit, but they are very much effective.
If you are stuck on using leds and don't wanna spend a shit Ton or build your own, thus light can be very effective.
I would only recommend it though, after I had informed you that you can get an apollo 600w hps for the same exact price from amazon. Air cooled or not.
Thus is what I did.

With an air cooled hps, you have an extra option for heating and cooling your room. My room was running at 75 with all my leds and t5s. With my ac running 24/7 and intake fan on..
When I took them down and put the air cooled hps up my temp dropped to 60 with the ac and intake on. So I turned intake and ac off. This was last month, same outside temp as now... and my ac has been off since. Temps were sitting about 65
But it gets better ..
I then took and plugged in my fan for the hps to my tenp control box, so that I can use the hps to keep my room at 72 or so.
When it gets to 77 degrees in the room, my fan kicks on, pulls hot air from the room, through the hps hood and exhausts outside.
When the room temp gets to 70 degrees, the fan turns off.
You could have a badass light and a way to keep your temps exactly where you want them!

stay smokin'

Blurple is a technological dead end. White light COBs are superior.

You mention Mediterranean climate. Is that where you are physically? I only ask because I'm under the impression that availability is better in the States than in Europe.

Who knows where we'll be with LED tech in a few years. But right now, COBs are proven. I'm guessing that with the right diodes, products like the Quantum Boards will take off.

If heat is a big factor in the summer, COBs (especially softly driven) mounted to an open frame would be vastly superior to any Chinese box that throws out more heat than light.
