It's a really tough choice I'm a idiot who grows on probation so being that type of risk taker I might let them go awhile longer choices choices choices.. I hate wasted time effort n supplies tho

I wouldn't worry about it. It sounds like he believed you. He was in your house and smelled it, isn't that enough probable cause to search? Definitely get a carbon filter. Cops were at my house a couple months ago asking aboout my neighbors parenting skills due to a runaway child. I was shitting my pants. Fortunately for me I have a little growlab and a big carbon filter. heh
