Hi guys,
Just a question regarding organics.
I started my second ever grow from seed just over a month ago. I started in 1l pots and let the seedlings roots fill the pot before transplanted straight into 7gallon / 30l fabric pots in canna terra pro which im aware is already charged and will take you through the first 5 weeks of growth without having to feed. however, i also decided to premix dry amendments to each pot as id read that organic dry amendments can take up to 4 weeks to actually be usable for the plant. So i figured by adding it before transplanting, by the time the 4 / 5 week came, the canna terra pro nutrients would have been used and now the amendments i added will start to be used by the plant. for the first week or so i watered very carefully, knowing that the new seedlings root zone wouldnt be developed enough to use up all the water in a 7gallon fabric pot, so watered bit by bit until the plants got bigger and more established.
Its been about 3 weeks since then and the plants are getting bigger and I've now started watering right through, watering approximately 2 gallons water through each fabric pot ( 7gallons ) and that seems to be perfect, leaving me with about 10 % run off which the plants drink up within 30mins / 1 hour after watering anyway. When watering i firstly neutralise the tap water by using an organic pure vitamin c product called ecothrive neutralise, which instantly removed chlorine and chloramine from tap water. i fill up a 5 gallon bucket and mix 1 tbsp molasses, 1/2 tbsp epsom salts and i ph with bio bizz organic ph down to a ph of 6.5.

Ive noticed what i believe to be nutrient burn on the tips of some of my leaves on the new growth and was wondering if any of you organic experts could give me some advice please. Do you think it could be any of the amendments i added that are having a bad effect on my plants and if so will my plant grow out of it ? Im still in veg but want to flip to flower after 1 more week.

The dry amendments used and mixed into the canna terra pro 7 gallon pots were as follows......

60ml bat guano ( guanokalong ) 1.10.1
60ml seaweed powder ( guanokalong ) 1.0.1
60ml ecothrive charge ( insect frass ) 3.2.3
Lavaworm volcanic rock ( guanokalong ) no npk.

light used is a lumatek zeus pro 600w led.
ive got it hanging at 50cm from canopy at 50% power. I keep the temps at roughly 25 / 26•c and rh at approx 65 / 70% rh in veg. Although you’ll notice my temps dropped to 21.5•c in the pic as im based in uk and had a really cold day today.

ive attached pictures and any feedback would be very much appreciated thanks guys

Your plants look fantastic.
i don’t see any “burn” on the new growth. Only curling and warping.
check your pH in and out and see if you’re on target for your medium/nutes combo.
sometimes there’s a bit of a disconnect between media and nutrient manufacturers’ recommended pH levels and you have to ultimately listen to your plants.
I had very similar curling on new growth and some of the bigger fan leaves and I did a few things and had no more of that:
1-Lowered my temps/improved air circulation; especially more air intake with fresh air; my VPD was out of wack

2- closely monitored pH of not only the feed solution but also the runoff -im growing in coco/perlite btw

at that height i would run the light 100% power for sure plants love light that is their food

if you are going to add epsom salts put them on the stove with 4 cups of water and slowly heat until it dissolves then add the molasses and stir then mix into your water i would do 4 tblspoons per 5 gallons and 1 of molasses

thanks for getting back to me guys.
Im noticing brown / bronze spots on leaves from bottom and even the new growth.
Someone suggested i could've overwatered them and that can cause stems to purple and become weak causing P, calcium and magnesium deficiencies.
ive put the light power up to 75% now and im hoping that may help. I dont want to put it to 100% power yet because they only recommend that in flower. I was just about to flip to flower but now this is going to set me back an extra week or so until i resolve the issue. Also im running out of height.
You can see the newer growth on the stem is starting to green again above the purple so maybe it was just shock from overwatering ? So many things to consider it blows my brains.

Plants need some chlorine.
that should make sense because ive been using a chlorine and chloramine neutraliser for use with tap water and maybe ive been putting too much in.
Also i downloaded an app but dont really understand what lux level i should be at. Ive just measured the distance from top of canopy to light and its come up with 780 lux

I had a few brown spots but I flipped anyways on Monday and they alreView attachment 4778317View attachment 4778319ady grew 6 inches
they look in great shape !
Mine arent as nice as yours, the tops are getting a real light green / yellow tone to them. It almost looks like Magnesium, calcium or P deficiency in mine.
I loaded up on bat guano weeks ago before transplanting though and have been phing at 6.5 so im not sure why it would show a deficiency. Also ive been giving molasses and epsom salts every other watering so the calcium and magnesium levels should be ok too.

Hi guys, just a quick update.
I haven't touched the plants, ive literally just increased the power of the light to 75% and thats it.
Im noticing brown spotting on most of the leaves, even new growth. Im thinking its maybe caused by the weather because im in uk and the nights can get cold, although the temps never drop below 15•c
Ive mixed up 0.5l bottle with 1/4 tsp epsom salts and 1/4 tsp molasses and will give a foliar spray just before lights out tonight.
Ive tested soil ph and its 6.5 so no issues there.
really mind blowing and dont know what to do.
