It was this pic he saw that he then knew instantly. So if anthing like this happens to your ladies it's likely it is russet mites. Be careful!!

I've never dealt with Russet mites but after digging around here on RIU and seeing that picture, I definitely see what they see's now. And since this garden shop is likely a local "hub of knowledge" AND they know these vile creatures have been prevalent in your area it was an excellent call. Score one up for the local Garden shop!!!
