PM spores germinate when the temperature is between 60-70 and RH is over 60% and the foliage is dry.
Avoid these conditions!
To start with I would suggest sterilizing the tent before your next grow. 3% H2O2 (drug store strength) add 2TBS white vinegar, let this mix sit 24 hours cap loose then Spray it down.
You could also add filters to your air intakes. I use the better home AC filters from The Depot and cut them to size. It makes for negative pressure in the tent and I’m always amazed at how quickly they get dirty.

@kdt15 - a lot of good info has been mentioned already in this thread. A simple search brought me here:

https://www.questclimate.com/?s=powdery+mildew

The one time I got powdery mildew I treated with a foliar spay using SM-90 and GreenCure organic gardening fungicide. I mixed a contents in an empty 1 gallon jug and followed exact instructions. Luckily I was in veg and things cleared up very quickly. Powdery mildew got into my grow because I brought my plants outside on a nice sunny day while doing some maintentance not knowing that we had a rotting lilac bush festering with the stuff.

Bottom line is take the necessary steps to prevent it from showing up to begin with.

You can run in the VPD with adequate ventilation and not get PM. Some run a lot higher RH.

And like Rob Roy said get mold resistant strains to help avoid it. There are lots out there.

But if you DO get PM and its late in flower use a defoliar spray of H2O2 and harvest.

Chop your plants and do a H2O2 wash and then shake em blow them with a fan for a while and then dry them. It gets rid of the spores and makes a cleaner tasting product. I am going to try and not be too stoned next time and do half with h2o2 and half normal this round to see if the flavor is better. Because it was on the PM king tut. Half was PM and the other plant was great so i washed half

The washed half tasted better.

Jorge Cervaces has a video of the wash. Its how i did it and that works !
