Thats just it, I dont wanna hermie the plant. I have this pretty skunk male i wanna pollinate a branch of one of my females with to get a bud or two full of seeds...that r not from a hermie. U get what i mean?
Quarantine the male. Harvest the pollen.
Find the branch you want o make preggy on the bitch.
Poke a hole in a BIG plasitc bag and stuff said branch through.
Use a tiny panit brush to dust the lady with the male pollen.
Put a plastic bag (new) over the branch.
Remove the BIG bag, leaving the second one on.
Wait a couple of days to remove the second bag.

Wait, plant, grow again.

ok, so i get HOW to do it now, and how long i have to wait to catch the pollen, now my next Q.

Could it hurt to cut of pollen nodes and leave just a few to keep the pollen down to a minimum? or would it stress the male out too much to release?

If the male is now in the same room as the females, be careful!!!
Might be best to just cut down the male and take the pollen from it in a different room (shower and do laundry right after)

Pluck the little balls of the male and toss in a ziplock until needed.

Why do you want to keep the male alive? One males worth of pollen should hold you for quite a while I'd think.

Pluck the balls if ya want, just do it in a different room. (just-in-cases)

so when they r mature enuff...pluck em and put them in ziplock bag with decascent(whatever), then put em in freezer?

then to pollinate, cut pod, harvest pollen, pollinate. This will work much bettr for me, thanks dude:joint::joint:

not sure about the freezer, and keep the desiccant thingy off the pollen. (may not be needed)

just a dark corner of the fridge should be fine.

i did what newgroth was saying at first.. force hermie part of the plant to pollinate.... the only problem is i didnt want to hermie it until after harvest, so i harvested all but one branch and hermied it... only problem was the stigmas had already dried,,, just like menopause or something,,, so i didnt get any results. i got the male flowers but no seeds :(. you have to do it before those stigs start turning brown/red/orange thats for sure

The flowers have to be at their peak for pollination to get good seed this is much different than peak for good smoke. The pistils should be nice and white and the bud fully formed. I only benefit of forcing a plant to go hermie and allowing it to self pollenate is the fact the the resulting seed is then feminized which is always nice.:peace:

yea,, it was more of an afterthought to try to "self" her... just thought i'd slip that in,, thats really the only thing i know from experience,, is that the pistils cant be dry to accept pollen
