I don't really believe for a minute that blacks find the word niggah offensive. If they did then why do a LOT of them call each other that? My *best* buds and I really give each other cut downs all the time; we don't cut each other any slack but we would do anything for each other.

You are saying that if a white person calls a black person (niggah)it is not offensive. I find that hard to believe . Not trying to argue.

No, I'm saying it's not really offensive to them; it's leverage. If they were offended by it, why do so many of them call each other that? Seriously, go on any social website used by a lot of blacks and they throw the "N" word around like it's nothing - because it is.

Actually the technical term is Reclamation. It's when a targeted group reclaims formerly perjorative term by semantic shift.

Maybe, but in a world where we're all supposed to be equal and above such pettiness why would you give something as trivial as a word, literally a sound on the wind, so much power over your emotions?

Good morning, Orithil,
I was talking about correct nomenclature for a process. There was nothing personal about me in there. So I'm not sure where this came from?

I was merely speaking in general, the you wasn't directed at YOU, I was just typing as I'd speak it. Perhaps it should read "..why would someone give something...". I was pretty high at the time I typed it.
