i pressure cooked my popcorn in jars, with a paper filter disc for a lid and a double layer of tinfoil on top

after i inoculate the jars, do i put the tinfoil back on, or leave the jars in the tote with just the paper discs and the screw caps on there?

thanks,
monkey

also, can the popcorn be too hot for the syringe of culture? am i going to cook the goop?

i was going to wait until the jars are cool enough to touch before inoculating

Let the jars cool over night. I usually put the foil back on because it made me feel like I was keeping contaminants out, but I doubt it mattered.

just let it cool out, give it like 3 hours if its goin down tonight. the tinfoil is honestly up to you, if you feel safer with it go ahead, i dont leave it on but you can, i dont use the filter discs though, i just use 3m tape lol

thanks a lot guys. i'll shoot the goop in now since they are colder than room temp. it is like 73f in my basement

they're going into a sealed tote so i guess going on what you guys have told me i will leave them with just the filter discs

if they don't turn out, well.. hey. now that i have the pressure cooker this is all very cheap to do.
