Skull from the 6' black bear I got this year. Degreased with Borax and cleaned up with cosmetic hydrogen pyroxide. I didn't have much experience with bear meat but am glad to say he's been delicious and we're eating him faster than the caribou or mtn goat we have in the freezer. Although they're both excellent too.
Check out the skull where the canines enter, you can see a huge pocket there, heading back toward the eye. When you pull out that canine 2/3 of the tooth is hidden in the skull! He was a 3-4 year old bear, shot through the aorta at 30 yards and full of blueberries.

its a lame pic but we smoked some Granola Funk on the way up that 3605' point right next to Mt Eklutna a couple weeks ago, above Eagle River AK. Looking south over the head of Cook Inlet.
