So today at work i couldnt help but think how i could get a cheap grow box. Then it hit me! My dads gf has a bunch of unused furniture in our garage. Being high all the time i completly forgot about it haha. So i went a found a enclosed computer desk. Its about 5ft tall 2-3ft wide and 1-2ft deep....PERFECT!
My plan is to gut the inside and save all the spare wood. This is going to be a cfl grow as its the easiest to control temps for my situation. Im thinking a diy cfl reflector with 4 55w 2700k cfl, 2 23w 5000k cfl and side lighting with various cfls. Im aiming around 400-500 watts if it can be kept cool.
For air movement im thinking around 120-140 cfm of computer fan with a diy carbon filter. i havent decided on what fan/fans im going to get but im looking for lower decible fans with good cfm. A adapter with 4 ports for fans will be used that plugs right into the wall. Passive intake is my goal with maybe some pvc to keep light from leaking.
Mylar will line the inside for extra reflectivity ans as much light use as possible. Two plants at a time i believe will work but this can be found out once i have the cab all set up. I will put a few pics up tomorrow of the cab, as well as trying to get pictures for everything done. Im not the handiest but i have determination and will get this to work exactly how i want with very minimal exterior changes
Now its time for a bowl of blue cheese and the Boston Briuns ( i could care less but the gf would get mad without it ) Happy growing and smoking RIU
