Pound of bud....spotted mold. Toss it all?

Hi All,

My humidity was too high in the jars and I got some mold. There was a jar that had mold on the outside (spider web looking) so I tossed that jar and all of its contents.

I went through every bud with a bright light and pulled a few others that had some mold either at the base of the stem or inside the bud.

I have about a pound left and have read so many horror stories about how smoking contaminated weed can make you extremely sick.

Should I toss the rest?

Thank-you!

I would go through it all carefully, give it all a sniff. Everyone who has smoked weed has inhaled a little mold at one time or another, of course it's best to avoid it, but you don't want to throw away any good bud. We aren't talking about black mold here, the biggest negative effect it'll have on you is probably the taste.

Thanks a ton! I did smell it all and it smells good for what remains.
I am sure I threw out way too much but I was super worried about it.

A friend died of wheat smut in his lungs. Be careful about bringing anything like that into your lungs. Still, just look at the air that most of us breathe.

Yeah, anytime I find mold, it goes in my trim bin for cooking edibles. Just snip off slightly more than the mold area. Cooking it would kill the spores so no waste.

Your bud wasn't ready to smoke or jar, I'd pull it all and leave it dry for the proper length of time in a dry environment then trash anything with mold on.

The amount of mold you inhale causes the problem, I inhale mold all-day long but a big load has more chance of infection and that's where smoking moldy bud can hit you hard.

This is tough because for every piece of mold you see there are tons of mold you cannot see without a microscope.

Like BBQ said. Fully dry and then examine. Preferably with a 60x microscope. Look at the centers of the buds where the stem is in particular
