Powdery Mildew

Lowest my temps drop down to is 21C. And the highest the humidity spikes to is 43%.
I guess I need to get a heater for my back room now eh? I know PM happens from dark cool and damp places. So it’s clearly occurring at lights out. Now how the fuck do I keep it from spreading or eliminating the problem? I don’t wanna lose my harvest and have to turn it all into cream. This is a new strain I grew and wanted to smoke some come January.
I was skimming this thread and before getting to this post I was going to ask if it was a new strain.
Strains have different levels of resistance to PM.

yea it’s a new strain I never grew before. Apparently it’s resilienT. Apparently not. The strain I grew last time has it too. The spores have to have gotten somewhere. The whole room gotta be fucked now which is terrible. Not sure if leaving the back room door open or closed is a smart idea.

You can’t burn sulpher with growimg plants especially in flower, they will taste like sulpher...once pm has taken ahold burning sulpher does nothing for the plant..it’s for preventing an outbreak between crops.

Ya suggesting using sulpher burner in late flower is terrible advice. And its NOT some magical cure all that makes up for poor growing environment and plant health. ( not saying thats you skoal)

I don’t know where I went wrong this time. I know I’ve been half asking my grows lately. In there middle of a divorce. So that has me all fucked. Just hoping to sanitize everything she kill this shit off. Gonna be giving the tents a deep clean real soon. May do one tent at a time and pull the plants out for a clean.

I think I have solved the problem. I have a space heater in the veg tent that runs when the temp gets too low. The heater has a built in thermostat in it. Nice tower heater.
When I start to flower I’m gonna run the heater in my back room where both my tents are to keep the temps up. But so far. I haven’t seen any powdery mildew. Keeping those temps around 25-27C constant.

dude I dont represent the company or know who owns it, but i am SOLD on “PURECROP One” as a product...even in last week of flower you are good with it...PM just washes right off, you can spray it every day, etc.....Amazon has it. And do the Jose Cervantez method of H2O2 bud washing when you harvest....everything will be good to go. Avoid sulphur burn, greencleaner, etc in late flower

AGAIN!!! I ENDED UP WITH THIS SHIT AGAIN. I was spraying hydrogen peroxide during flower thinking it would kill it. I also did a hydrogen peroxide bath as well prior to drying. Thinking it would kill it.

Well I went to do another harvest. Noticed my nugs were covered in powdery mildew as I was trimming. I also over dried them in error. Went a day too long. Any event. In the trash they went. I am not tearing down my entire tent and doing a full clean. I cleaned the sleeve protector for my carbon filter. Wiped the entire tent down. Removed the oscillating desk fan and am cleaning that.

This is not the first time with powdery mildew for me. And I’m actually quite pissed of about this.

I’m not sure how it keeps occurring. I have an exhaust fan. I have an oscillating fan in my 3x3 tent. I only usually flower two 5 gallon plants at a time.

now I’m contemplating running a dehumidifier 24\7 to ensure the humidity doesn’t spike at night causing that shit.

That’s all I can assume. When lights are off. Humidity always spikes. That’s what I’ve noticed. I thought my ventilation was good. But now after cleaning my tent and equipment. I think my oscillating fan was only running during lights on and not 24/7. So on lights out it wasn’t running therefore not benefiting the plants.

I rather not spray with solution. I rather figure out why it keeps occurring to me. Hence why I may just run my fans 24\7 and run a dehumidifier.

dropping the RH after finding PM is one of the best ways of having an explosion of spores taking hold everywhere.

AS for your veg tent, find some lime sulphur and spray your plants twice 7 days apart. It is going to smell super bad for a week or two. (like matches), but it will get rid of pm and mites too. It is very cheap and not super toxic like many of the things people suggest

Regalia is also certified organic. It's how I got rid of PM, after 2 infected grows. But it's more of a preventative product...I use it every week on my plants in veg now, and flower up until a they start showing pistols. Not only have I had zero PM, I've had zero bud rot. And super healthy happy plants!! A quart will last the average smaller grower over a year!

If you are going to spray anything, this is the shit to spray. Maybe watch a few videos before you discount it, because once you have it, it is a real bitch to rid. Good luck whatever you do...I about lost my mind!!

I have gone ahead and scrubbed my tent. So hoping that has cleaned anything that May have been lingering there. I just don’t want it to appear in my flower tent and can’t figure out how it keeps occurring.

Am what I hearing is I just need to keep flowering my plants and just spray with foliage spray to eliminate it? like how many grows and I gonna need to do that for?

What I do now, is to have an IPM, Integrated Pest Management, in place. The idea is to prevent issues like common pests and powdery mildew before they happen. I use 3 basic items, 2 of which are organic. I use Regalia for PM, Venerate for other pests, and GH Armor Si for it's silica and potassium. Regalia & Venerate are both made by MarroneBio https://marronebio.com/cg/cannabis/

I don't think spend more that about $10 a week for my IPM, although start up was a little pricey... I spray about once a week until I see pistols now....Although you can spray right up until harvest. I DID spray it up until harvest on PM infected plants and it did turn some pistils brown ahead of time, but at least they finished. But then you'll be able to start your next grow PM free, and without scrubbing everything. I spent sooo much time cleaning, and even bought an ozone generator, and still the PM came back. Then someone here recommended Regalia. All I can say it it worked and continues to work great for me....there's a lot of info out there on it.
