powdery mildew

I just grabbed a few clones from one of the local shops. I noticed some of the other ones he had were showing signs of powdery mildew. The 3 sativas i bought had no signs of powdery mildew although i noticed they were mg defficient ( black jack, green crack and sour dawg). I bought one platinum girl scout cookies strain that was very large. It looked fine till i got home and noticed a few small leaves with powdery mildew at the very bottom. It was barely noticeable at all. I still have trouble recognizing it on the leaves i have in a bag.... its so small. 99% of the plant looks unaffected. I was planning on mothering out all of these plants.

My question would be is the powdery mildew treatable with milk, fungicide and colodial shield. Did that plant just get some spores from another infected plant on it or is the problem most likely already systemic and uncurable. I have dealt with pm during flower before and F** that.

I really want that girl scout cookie strain but im not willing to battle powdery mildew during flower if the pm will just be passed to clones and then show up under the right conditions.

I have a pretty large crop of blue dream and sour d already growing so these would be going in the other bathroom in the other room. I dont want to risk infection of my current crop until im sure pmbis gone.

My thought was give it a heavy Nitrogen feed for 2 weeks and see if it comes back. Thoughts?.

Powdery Mildew is the mother of all evils. :fire: IMNSHO You have 3 options. Destroy them, Use Eagle 20 and kill that PM for good, Use milk, peroxide, etc... and continue to battle PM for as long as you have those plants, or any clones that come from them.

I will probably get flamed for this, but Eagle 20 is the solution to the PM problem. If you are going to use them for mothers then give them a good application to kill it. It is a systemic fungicide so all you clones will be PM free. It also will be gone from your plants by the time they are harvested. ONLY apply it in veg and I ONLY apply it to plants that wont be going into flower anytime soon. I like to err on the side of caution. You also will need to sterilize your grow area to kill any spores that may now be there. And hopefully they haven't gotten anywhere near your flowering ladies. I haven't had PM issues for some time because I am hyper aware of it. I would prefer not to use Eagle 20 but the shit works and I like to win wars and not continue to fight battles. It is a good idea to have a quarantine area for any clones you may acquire.

They havent been in my grow room and the one that has powdery mildew is in the garage. The other 3 are in a bathroom across the hall.. my grow room is in veg till the end of the month. ive been careful to change clothes and shower before going near my grow room. I wont be taking cuttings for almost a month and a half to 2 months from any of the mothers. Does eagle 20 just last to supress it for a certain amount of time or is it just gone after application.

Thanks for help

The only product that I know of that actually kills pm is a vinticulture product called A-q10. It's a natural bacteria that attacks the p.m killing it and prevening it from coming back. The only problem is I can only find it for sale overseas and you have to contact a rep. I'm sure it can be had another way I just have not figured that out yet. There is a huge problem with root aphids and pm in and on most people selling clones around my neck of the woods in the pac-N.W. all clone stock here is crap. Keep a mother plant or start from seed that you purchase from a reputable seed bank. This will eliminate all the shit coming into your Grow world from outside sources. The key is to prevent P.M not fight it.

the eagle 20 is a systemic application that lasts for 6wks...so its a good idea to use this right before the switch to flower

Eagle 20 is good at what it does so is daconil. However they aren't natural and they are also a fungicide I believe. That in theory should fry any myco life you may have... Also you don't really want to treat anything budding . you will never really get it all out , well I don't think so anyway

I did serenade first. Spraying with milk today and light hydrogen peroxide solution tomarrow. At that point im gonna bring it inside and observe it. They will all remain seperated from my main room.

Im not woried about smell too much just wanna save that strain. Im definately not trying to get anyone sick just to save a strain. It will be 2 months before i take cuttings and 3 months before i start flowering.

Yes and so does serenade. Serenade smells like malt vinegar and ass IMO! I forgot all about sulphur. It's awesome and the plants really like it too but not during flower and though.
actually i think serenade is what i had. it was a green bottle. fuckin smelled so bad. sulphur works great. I used to hit my plants with a sulfur burn all thru veg seemed like they were healthier that way
