Pre-98 Bubba Kush

Anyone else had this? I tried it recently after picking up some clones from a very generous individual and I have to say... it is hands down the best pot I have ever smoked in my life. And I have smoked a lot. Wonderful grape/earthy/hashy fragrance, it's exactly what I've always wanted in my "perfect strain," the grape reminds me of purple, which reminds me of twilight/moonlight... nice mental image for toking times. :)

It's very dense and very potent. One good hit and I'm done for sure. It's more narcotic than any other strain I've tried. I've had persistent muscle spasms from Neurontin withdrawal for a week now, none of my regular indica dominant hybrids (Blueberry etc) could get those to relax, but Pre-98 Bubba Kush did so instantly. Also, the constant headache I've had for years was gone, and the burning I have from nerve damage was gone... hardly anything helps more than 75% with that, even Percocet. It's definitely on the level of an opiate for the pain relief.

There's still an element of trippyness though, it's not boring like some indica doms, lots of laughing and a positive attitude. There's very little anxiety, even compared with other indica doms, and 2-3 hours into the high I begin to feel profoundly relaxed and easily slip into deep, restful sleep - I normally have terrible insomnia that even Ambien doesn't help much with. I also normally get bad nightmares from PTSD but the Pre-98 Bubba Kush has spared me from this.

Anyone else have any experiences? Anyone grow it before? I'm going to be putting it into DWC buckets. Supposedly this cut grows slowly in veg, but yields buckets in flower.

This is a strain that should be far more widely available... truly phenomenal. I know I have found my "companion plant." I have been searching for a long time for that perfect indica - I started believing it didn't exist and almost gave up - but this one is truly the holy grail of indicas.

It's better than my Purple Kush I think.
I've only smoked it - never grown it.
But Yeah - it's dank for pain.

fyi pre 98 bubba kush has no grape anything to anypart of it, i been growing it since 99 im pretty sure about that, its more of a chocolate coffee taste if i had to discribe it, glab you like what you got im glad it help with your pain, i know my bubba just puts me in the bed most of the time

I'd say the earthy taste (I guess it's chocolatey/coffee-ish) dominates the grape, but I can smell the grape in there. It's definitely the real deal, the original source of the genetics is A+ trustworthy.

Yeah it does have me taking a nap pretty much every time. I love this stuff, I finally have what I feel like is a real option outside of opiates for pain. I'd almost given up looking, so glad I didn't.

Chopping my first two of a half Pre98 bubba. Resin machines with a smell to me like cut Aspen ( damn spell checker) popul. I have high hopes that both are keepers.

Nice to hear about the naps

Pre 98 bubba is super strong, very high THC. But I actually prefer the Katsu bubba cut that I have over it. Less yield and not as high THC, but it is higher in cbd and has more of a pungent coffee smell than the pre98.

I just grow out this strain with my last grow and have 3 clones in flower now. Very nice strain great taste/smell (like chocolate coffee). Nice yields overall pure fire but I have to say I still perfered the potency/yield of 818 over the Pre 98 bubba.

I had a nice cut in Colorado, not sure which one. The thing vegged so slow and took forever for clones to root. Was probably the tastiest herb I ever smoked as of then (would love to have OG, Sour D, and Bubba at the same time to compare). Since being back in Michigan I have yet to sample a good Bubba, I keep telling people if its not completely amazing then you don't have it. A buddy picked up some at a dispensary that looked like maybe it was a good one if it had been finished right but the flavor was more chocolate and none of the kush magic, but it did more or less paralyze me for a good 2 hours. Been thinking its time to search out a good one again, I keep hoping to see more unfeminized from Cali Con, otherwise I'll have to go Dr. Greenthumb or maybe pick a good cross. Congrats on the killer find!

i have a BUBBA KUSH cut, that i thought was the pre98, but I dont have any GRAPE flavor, I grow it in a highly amended organic soil, it is The most POWERful strain i have, you could smoke the stuff for a year straight and it would still flat out STONE you. all other strain i have i get Used too, and the high is not as good as when i started smoking it, but the bubba is so good for pain relife. mine tastes good but does not taste like GRAPES at all, I am wondering what the hell strain i have, I am going to have to talk to the guy i got it from , he said it was the real deal

My pre 98 bubba that I've been growing for years is straight up earthy chocolate mocha Starbucks coffee.. The yield is poor but rock hard dank buds.. I got pre 98 bubba in a few crosses I made myself like
Pre98 x Julius ceaser
Pre98 x Tahoe og
Corleone kush(pre98 x sfv og) x Julius ceaser(SoCal masterkush x sfv og).. All of them are dank anything bubba is crossed to it will dominate that cross!

What's up with the yield? I just put my two into bigger smart pots. I was gonna veg the living fuck out of them. What kind of yield we talkin?

Honestly if you veg them long enough the yield is amazing, the whole thing turns to bud, problem is it takes a long, long time to get a big plant vegged out and it is only gonna stretch about 6 inches. So yield per foot is awesome, yield per day is crap. Polar opposite of haze.

All about Bubba.
what happened to purlize... he was a good man. do I cross p98 w/ hillbilly armor? Anyone grow that rare dankness strain?

bubba cld use something to accelerate growth/vigor. I'd like to knock off my best strains, so then I could donate some to seedpac, other michigan heavyweights and even the little people. lilliputians wld grow the shit outta bubba.

I've tried RD's Bubba out-cross or "Ox". She was crazy frosty, but a tough grower that's been since retired. No Bubba crosses I have came across have come close to competing with my Pre-98 cut IMO. So she's here if you have the pollen ;)
