Prepping a mom for clone?

Hi, been growing for a few years but cloning just a few months. I'm well versed on the procedure itself, what branches should be cut,and care for the clones. My question is for those with experience with the watering cycle of the mother as it relates to when you should cut. Is there an advantage to cutting shortly after a feeding or shortly after a plain water? Or is it better to let the plant dry partially or near completely(just before a watering) to cut? I should mention that I do half my plants in a 60/40 mix of promix to perlite and the other half in Deep Water Culture(a new experiment I've been having great success with), all with Foxfarm and a few additives. Thanks.

I have really not had any problems taking cuts off a plant any time as long as the mother is healthy. But, thinking about it, probably the best time is when Nastynate420 already stated. If the mother is healthy I wouldnt worry too much.

Hey, wondering if I could add my thoughts on this.
We at Delta9Labs have had asked that same question a few years back. What we did was took a few "test samples" from mothers that had been:

A: Over watered (plain r/o water)
B: Water deprivation
C: Feeding night before (at 1/2 dose)
D: Just plain r/o water the night before
E: Feeding three nights before (at 1/2 dose, also at this point the nutrients have been absorbed and the soil is starting to dry out)

Our best and most noticeable results came from (E)
I don't have the results in front of me, but if I remember correctly the (E) clones rooted about 24-72 hours before the rest did which was really interesting to watch

Hope We Helped bongsmilie

Here are some important things to remember when cloning.

- Use a sterile and sharp tool to cut clones
- Make sure to cut at a 45 degree angle
- Trim leaf ends to conserve the cuttings energy
- Use cloning gel
- Keep clones moist and humid for successful rooting

First.. ya tell her how good she looks then ask her... whats! behind you!... Just before you hack her limbs off, re-assuring her all the while "everything will be fine!"

I do nothing special. Cut, Suck, Plant... thats it! Keep them cooler 72-75 and youll be fine.

You suck on your clones before planting? Ive never heard of that tech.
Actually I was shown the technique at a nursery. They told me it was a sure way to remove any air bubbles that may occur. You draw on it like a thick shake for a few seconds. I do it all the time now without any rooting hormones and my sucess rate has been 100%

Sounds funny...I know!

I water 1 hour before taking cuts put in ezcloner that has been running for 24 hours with 1 cup of EWCT! Dont care about temp or jells. 100% for last 2 years, dont ask I really dont understand it myself but it works kick ass! Cloned 7 days ago and I have fat ass rootballs started and ready for dwc and coco buckets! I have had temps as high as 95 degrees and as low as 70 degrees!

Nope, But I didnt say I kept it there! 95 is way to high for very long but when you are baked and move your heater pointing it at your cloner for 24 hours and your clones dont even blink, Is alot of luck or something is working. By the way i have done that 2 times. If I keep it under 85ish I am good! EWCT allows you to have a higher temp for some unknown reason. I read about it somewhere long ago and swear by it!

lol.... that shit is straight out of the "How To Recognize Domestic Violence" handbook

Do you advocate yelling at her and screaming "look what you made me do" and then when it's over with apologize profusely and make the empty promise that it will never happen again if she just forgives you??? That shit made me shoot coffee out of my nose you arsehole!!!! Good stuff.
