Hypothetically Speaking, If an 1/8 costs $70, how much would the following (including the appropriate discounts for buying in bulk):

1 oz
1 qp
1 hp
1 lb

Essentially Im trying to calculate the appropriate profit margins between each level of distribution

It depends on the quality of weed.

Exotic weed sells for:
$400-$500 Oz. the grower may sell it for $300 Oz.
The growers price is usually the same. No matter how much you buy. So if he sells for $300 Oz. Then it's gonna be $4800 a pound.
The middle man or the dealer, is who marks it up the price.
A dealer who knows how to make money rarely sells in Ounces. He'll sell in 1/8th's and 1/4's only. So if he buy's an ounce for $300 and sells exotic weed for $70 an 1/8th, he'll make a $260 profit off an ounce.

Ah, I see, so if the grower knows he is selling exotic weed that will be sold for $70 an eighth is that what he bases his price on? Does the market have an influence in his decision or is it just 300oz take it or leave it because its going to be sold for 70 an 1/8?

lol a dealer who knows how to make money is not selling in small amounts like eigths unless he's a small time dealer. A dealer who knows how to make money gets the weight for the low (10 20 lbs) and distributes it to ONE person that he fully trust because its alot of weight. i did it for one year got me a car and a crib and now im chillin

but to answer this thread in dallas (where i use to live) a oz of chronic would be anywhere 375-500 depends on quality. a qp i would say 1400-1500 again it all depends on quality. 2600 hp. 4400-5200 a lb. these are more of dallas prices, well what i would sellem for haha

are you kidding me? $70 an 8th?

straight up that'd be $560, so that's probably $450-$500 an oz

if that's the case though, you've got bad prices. out here oz's are $300-400, and since weed costs the same to grow everywhere I'd say you need to look for a better hookup.

Seems to me, you think that all weed is priced the same.
Bullshit.....It's not.
Weed is like wine...
You've shitty boones wine which would be the same as Mexican Schwag weed.
Then you've got Chteau Margaux 1995 which would be the same as something like Strawberry Cough.
Then you got all the other different mid grade wines like Riesling which
would be all the mid grade weed mostly everyone gets.

I've been smoking weed for almost 25 years. I know the difference between just Ok' weed and weed that knock you into tomorrow.

Really really good and well taken care of, exotic weed is hard to come by.
That's where the prices sky rocket.
Anybody can grow weed, but not everyone can grow "Out of this world" exotic weed strains.
It takes lot's of care and nuturing.
That's when the price is relative to the amount work that was put into the
art of growing fine exotic weed.

There's alot of people out there that wouldn't pay $500/oz of weed.
Just like there is'nt alot of people out there that would pay $500 for a bottle of wine.
The people that do........Are my customers.

its a supply and demand issue....

and costs are not the same everywhere

Well, since i dont know the finer points of mary jane is I guess I will have to go out there and gauge supply and demand then make a determination. Its all too hypothetical. I was just hoping that if there was a certain street price set for an 1/8 you could then determine the avarage profit margin between each increment of measurement (from 1/8 to 1/4 to 1/2 to oz to qp to hp, to p) thereby setting how much you can expect everyone in the distribution channel to make profit wise and set the lb prices accordingly.

yeah, which tells me that either the grower is making mad bank since grows are grows, and it costs about the same to grow everywhere, or people are buying regular priced zips and flipping at insane prices.

thank god I could pick up from so many different places at once here it's ridiculous. low prices rock.

Hate to be a pain or parental sounding, but this is why you need to pay attention in school. In high school I would sit in my free periods and work out complex math problems on how to profit off of selling. Including cash flow, revenue and sales damage and such. A normal letter college ruled paper whatever you wanna call it would be completely covered by the end of the period.

I work things like sales for new customers and how I could give them good sales to get them hooked. Such as the 2 for 1 offers you see at the supermarket. Yeah you get it if you like it you keep getting it. So first time purchases were 2 gs for 1
and i would lose 20 bucks there. But if you break it down for what I get a gram for you get a lower number but for now lets say 20. So they i figured 3 g's for 50 and how much id have to sell to break even.

Set standards goals, get it organized but above all keep yourself safe. No slangin rock on the block for me. I thought it out, never got caught once and my secrets will not be released. =)

WOO HOO… MATH!!!!

So I took your post and did the math. Now $70 for 1/8th anywhere in the US is pretty steep so we’ll consider you are speaking about a high-end product and do some simple cost comparisons:

These numbers all started with the $70 1/8th price…. I think you can see where you might need some adjustments in your base price. Then again what the hell do I know... I've never even sold a joint..... LOL... I'm just here for the math
