Problems with Purple Kush (with PICs)

Hi All,

I have around 6 plants out of which 4 are unknown strains while two are "Purple Kush" strain. All plants are in excellent shape. However, both my Kush plant leaves are dying (PICs attached).

I do not know why this issue is only with my Kush plants while others are perfectly fine. They are all in the exact same environment.

Grow details as follows:

2 x Eye Hortilux Super HPS 400Watt
10 Galon Pots (has been transplanted in stages. Now in final pot)
Grow Type: Soil with perlite
Age: All Plants are 50 Days (Veg) --- I have just turned them into 12/12 (2 Days into Flowering)
Temp: 80F
Height: Kush (1.7 Foot Tall) - Others are (2+ Foot Tall)
Intake: 1x120CFM, 1x200CFM
Exhaust: 1x 380CFM

Soil type? Soil with perlite?
Never heard of that brand?
Does it have a brand name on the bag?

Yea slick, what kinda soil she in first? then what are you feeding them? I've grown PK over 2 years that is a very hungry lady she grows very fast, especially in flower, so be aware of that! Anything you wanna know about her PM me I'll be glad to help.

She is a N and CaMg whore, and that's what it looks like to me as well.

I use the soil attached and I add perlite with it (around 25%)

As for feeding, I did not feed them yet. I usually feed when I see a signs of deficiency which did not appear on any of the 6 plants with the exception of the PK. So far I have transplanted them 3 times from seedling which should give them more food/soil but apparently did not work with PK.

I have bad experience when feeding plants that do not show any signs of deficiency. I have read that this is best practice.

I use bottled water (PH 6.7)

Purple Kush is a healthy feeder she has a higher metabolism than alot of other strains, she grows and flowers pretty fast and yours need to be fed. I've been using the same enriched mix or variations of it and my other strains do just fine, my PK and Cindy 99 would always express the need for N in veg through the first 4 weeks of bud, but needed a lil' more Ca/Mg throughout entire growth.

so your going to feed her?

why dont you test some runoff of the water to see what the ppm is? if its low you gotta be under feeding..that way you know if you gotta flush or add more food.im on the needing more food side

The issue is I don't have a tester for PPM. Should I get one first or give her food anyways. Should I give her veg or flowering dose? At what ratio? ** Bearing in mind she is at day 3 of flowering **

We don't have a tester in my part of the world so I would have to order one which will take 5-7 days. I don't know if she can wait that long!

i would just pick the one up from home depot they got for like 10 bucks its a one shot deal and im not sure if it gives you ppms but it tells you how much npk is in it...and if you havent fed her she prob could use a good dose of food...if you grow with organic you can prob go with organic nutes low N and higher P and K. if your using chem ferts try to get something nice but cut the dose of it in half if not by an 8th and gradually increase.organics though its not full and is biosynthetic would be something like pureblend or fox farms....chemical alot people use kool bloom and cha ching stuff with the 50s and 40s in the pk....there are plenty of people to ask help from dont be afraid to ask.hope this helps and get that baby back in shape

Um the soil pH is wrong for marijuana, needs lime before potting or better still buy different soil, i know it looks like a cal/mag deficiency but i fear it has been brought on by pH not a deficiency, the fact that there is peat in this may futher compound the problem. Cal/mag should help with the pH too but look at the soil pH on the bag first and go from there imo. Peace

Bottled water usually contains high levels of cal/mag, read the label to find out what dissolved minerals are in it first before adding more cal/mag. Peace

Not if it's distilled or drinking (r/o) water, the spring and mineral added waters do and they have a higher pH like 7.5 to 8.

Mineral water i mean specifically. The soil ph is too low and needs lime to bring it up, dont matter too much about water pH really when your soil ph is low. Water dont change soil pH by much and testing soil runoff is not accurate but if you did i could help you with translating the results. Very few understand pH and soil let alone reading soil runoff. Yep there is the right amount of magnesium but calcium is almost non exsistent, i would add some calcium supplements and go from there. Did i also mention the soil pH is below 6 so will also cause problems. Here would be the main reasons why the plant is suffering, low pH and no calcium, in fact i can see next to the water ingredients picture that the plant is suffering from typical calcium deficiency. Calcium dude and better soil, check out the calcium deficiency on the left in my pic, think you'll agree. You have 22 ppm magnesium and needs balancing with about 70 - 80 ppm calcium, that is if i read the mineral analysis of your water right, 1mg a litre calcium and 22mg magnesium. I cant remember but i think one mg/litre equals 1ppm per litre or similar, dont quote me on that but research and check it out yourself-
