Producing Feminized Seeds With Hopefully A Colloidal Silver Generator

Got my Canadian 99.99% pure silver dime in the mail. Got it in distilled water, a stainless steel electrode to act as a cathode, the dime as anode. Had a couple of volts on it but nothing seemed to be happening. Turned it up to 5V and after a while seen bubbles on the electrodes. Reduced it back to 2.0V. The water started at 5 PPM on my dissolved solids pen and I will check it as it goes.

I have a couple of stains I want to cross. I have two CBD low THC stains, the one sweet smelling one I have trouble growing and the stinky one is easier to grow. I also want to try crossing them with a 1:1 ratio strain. I find the 1:1 has too much THC for normal daily life, I would like to cross it with the lower CBD ones and maybe get a higher CBD strain with a dash of THC in it. I will probably have some questions as I go, like do you spray the whole plant with the solution or just the areas where the pollen will be produced? If a plant already shows to be female can you convert it to male when flipping to 12:12? Anyway, off to the races.

To answer your questions, you can spray the whole plant if you want, I mainly concentrate on the stems, and the nodes/tops where the sex organs are produced. I put some paper on top the soil to catch any drops. Before you spray, add a bit of surfactant like yucca to enhance absorption.

Yes, you want the plant to show you she's
a female before you start spraying. Start spraying a week before flipping to 12/12, and keep spraying everyday until the pollen sacs are ready, depending on the strength of the CS you may need to spray a few times a day. I usually start seeing effects within a week, and pods forming within 2-3 weeks.

Forgot to mention, it helps if you do your last spray right before lights out, and to not consume any of the plant you sprayed.

Hi, thank you for the reply. I have read a few threads but were unsure of that. I never though to consume the plant afterward, this whole swallow silver thing seems odd to me.

Yeah, it can be a bit of trial and error the first couple times. It helps that your making the silver solution fresh, so you can make it as strong as you need to like 40-50ppm and use it within a few weeks. I usually make mine pretty strong so I only have to spray every night before lights out. I recently started using STS so I don't have to spray as much and hopefully get better/more consistent results.

I always thought that you used 2 pieces of silver. Not silver and stainless steel. At least that's how I did it years ago.

Yeah same here, I've never heard of making it with another metal on one of the connections. Could possibly lead to some unintended side effects?

Sure seems like a lot of trouble making something that’s already available. I used to work in a Texas state prison and this reminded me of it. Good luck.
A lot of the CS available online is basically worthless and won't reverse a plant. I used to make my own years ago but now I use STS and just have a couple small bottles of chemicals that I can mix up in 5 minutes in any amount I want whenever I need it. Less spraying as well.

Working in a Texas State Prison doesn't sound like a fun job.

Yeah the pre-made stuff you buy off the shelf is ridiculous price and there's no way to know whats really in it.

I prefer to breed with regular males, but its nice to be able to make feminized seed for different reasons, just take a bit more work, stress testing, etc.

All depends on your short term and long term goals...

I'm currently working with some high CBD strains myself.

I wish you success, if you do eventually decide to get the stuff for making STS just pm me, I can send you the links to order what you need.

I never read about the STS, only the colloidal silver a couple of weeks ago. I looked at the stuff online and as they said you don't know what you are getting with some, almost sounds like snake oil. Some I did figure out the concentration and it was below what we need. Since making the solution yourself works I decided to go for it. I only have $15 into it with the distilled water. I did look around for it in town but did not find anyone with it. I guess I coold have phoned up health stores but they seem to want double for anything off the beaten path.

You only need the anode to be silver, the current only goes in one direction. The stainless steel I had, it will not rust into the water or throw out ions. The drawback is that some of the silver gets plated on it and you can not revers the leads and send the plated silver back to the coin. Not a big deal, this was a quick and dirty way to get my ears wet. I just checked on the setup and my meter says 20 ppm ans sice the water started with 5 ppm I would guess it would be ready tomorrow. And for your viewing pleasure the buildup on the SS. I turned the voltage down earlier and it has not grown too much.

This damn covid. I do not have a little spray bottle to use to spray the plants and you can not buy enything but ecential items where I am as we are locked down. How much do you spray them? Is the whole top of the leaves suppose to be wet? I am wondering if I could use a fine paint brush to brush on some solution. Or if I do that will it be too much?

You don't have an old spray bottle lying around?

Nodes, tops and stems.

Paintbrush is fine. Spray/paint as much as you want all over the nodes and tops.

Keep spraying everyday.

Good luck!!

I have all kinds of crap laying around, I can not find a spare spray bottle. It drove me crazy today looking for one.

So I managed to find a small spray bottle with Hydrogen Peroxide in it, poured it out into an empty HP bottle I have not managed to throw out yet. Filled it up with my silver solution and have been spraying three different strains. I thought I had a laser pointer but it turned out to be a normal white led. It has been bothering me, I dis not know if it really had the silver in solution. Then I realized I had a level with a laser on it. Much searching and then I found it. But no batteries. Looked around for some AA's. Darn, have to go out and gets some, kept looking. Then I found a box of old Nicads. Great no charger. But, if I used my power supply I should charge them enough to run the laser and see the light path.

Nailed a few scraps of wood together to hold the batteries in series and against each other, charged them up for 20 minutes and the laser lit up. Shined it through the solution and a pretty sparkling line. Smile. Hey, this might work. So I sprayed the plants again and put them in a separate room from the others to put them in 12:12. I was going to put a few extra lights on a timer for them but I'll just move them back and forth until it starts getting crowded. When these start to show I may throw a few females in with them.
