Puffenuff's Apache Tent

Update: Not sure what day of veg we are on. I think it's about day 12 after sprouting? Pretty happy with the growth so far. Roots are starting to poke out of the bottom of the cups so I think I'll be transplanting soon, if not today, then probably before Wednesday. I'll be getting some more light in the next couple weeks. Temps are kind of high, got up to 86 yesterday in the tent, so I'm going to have to work on getting that down some as well. I guess that's all for now. Thanks for stopping in!

Ah, thanks brother! Glad to have you. How's that xml treating you? Did you ever get that comparison journal up and running??
I would say its treating me well but its put away for now but my grow with it was really good and learned a lot from growing with it as my first LED panel, the new place fell through so back to the market we go. Really sucks because I've had the time off to do it plus the lil lady doesn't want my big setup here.:-(

But on another note I have been playing in the dirt and away from the H2O a lil bit which has been interesting with the new Area 51 panel's as they are smaller and I wanted to play in the mean time until I'm able to do a proper side by side with the XML. Maybe I'll do a pre face-off journal with the area 51's since I have to wait anyway.

Glad ur back at'r brotha man, kinda missed ya ( in a non gay manner ) lol:bigjoint:

I'm really happy with how they are turning out so far. I need to transplant soon but that's about all that's going on. Everything is going smooth so I'm just riding the current at this point. I guess I should mention that there will be a new addition to the tent here in the next day or two, which I'm excited about. When I get it, I'll do the next update. Hopefully they'll be in their new homes by then. Either 2 or 3 gal smart pots. I only have a couple 3's and a bunch of 2's. So I'll have to switch up the game plan and run some of each. Thanks for stopping in.

Looking really good man, those leaves are beast!
Thanks slinger! Yeah, the leaves aren't too shabby for how old they are. Just transplanted into their new homes so let's watch em get more beastie.

Got the girls transplanted into their new homes. I thought I had some 3-gallon smart pots but I couldn't find them so they are all in 2-gallon pots. I was looking forward to going a little bigger than my last several runs but I wasn't about to go to the store to buy some bigger ones if what I have will work perfectly fine for me. I'll just veg a bit longer I guess to try to make up for it.

And what's this??? A new addition to the tent! On the right of the AT120WR (3:2) is the A51 SGS-160 courtesy of EH and A51. One pic is just with the whites on and the other is with the red switch flipped on. So if you just have the SGS plugged in, the whites come on, no switch for them or anything which is kind of different from what I was expecting. I guess I thought there would be two switches to control either the reds or the whites, but you can only turn on/off the reds. Seems like a cleanly assembled light on first impression. Runs quiet which is always a plus. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action and how it compliments the AT120. I still have plans to get another AT120 down the road, but with the new addition I might be able to hold off until the new Apache gear is available.

That's all for now! I appreciate all the love and support from the community on this run. Keep it coming! Peace.

I personally always turn off the REDS if anything ,... depending how much power I am wanting to use or how much heat my room can take, Sometimes I have been turning 2 out of 4 switch off on my AF-600 but I always make sure that most white strips are always on. So I don't think it's an issue.

The only issue really is that you got a free panel from EH and I didnt lol. Unless it went into my junkmail, I have not heard back from him on the topic! oh well... Maybe I should start getting some shitty results with my lights! just kidding. haha ITS IMPOSSIBLE! lol

I can't wait to see how the panel is going to work out for you.

I would say since you do not have the 3 gals container, I would veg less long as opposed to longer like you intend to do... but that's just me.

Yeah, since I've seen the dawg just vegging the shit out of his girls with the whites only, I knew that's all I was going to use until bloom. It wasn't a complaint or a knock on the design in any way, just different from what I was used to with the switches used by advanced; the apache doesn't even have switches but I guess I could tape over the red rows if I really wanted to ditch red in veg.

So grateful for EH's hospitality on this one. And for yours too GS for hosting the first cup competition! You might want to check your spam folder because a few of the emails he sent me ended up there and I had no idea. Haha, yeah, you got shit locked in so every time I check out your grow I know I'm going to see some quality buds, It's one of the few guaranteed things in life.

I see what you're saying about vegging less with a smaller pot, totally makes sense. I had a weird thought that ones in the 3g would be ready/bigger to flip sooner than the ones in the 2 gals and I would've flipped at that point instead of waiting for the 2 gals to get where they really should have been at. I also didn't want to veg for too long though because no guarantee 3/5 aren't going to turn male. I'd feel bummed that I spent all this time on them and then to replace them with a couple tiny clones to try to make up for it would be more upsetting for me. So I'm Just trying to keep positive vibes in the tent and hoping for the best.

Thanks for the input though, got me thinking which is good. consider it under consideration.

Well to be honest I am seeing some more potential in small container after using them myself. with Supersoil though, 5 gallons is as small as I would ever go. I understand that with commercial fertilizers, 2 gallons is the norm. I do have to deal with humidity much more than if I was to grow with smaller containers, but the yield and the end results in my opinion outweighs growing in small containers with chems.

I will look in my junk again, however, my agreements were with Brent at Fero and not with Jeff at A51. I have been giving him some good advertising (without even trying...) but that's just that. I know I would grow even bigger/frostier buds with the new SGS160 (just fishing here lol) and I do have some older lights that could be replaced (huhuhuhhhhu blackstar cough**some more) but it's not like I would use anymore power that what I am using now. In fact, as planned, I am experimenting with using a little less wattage per sq.ft. right now, being that it's summer time and HOT in the house when room2 is ON FULL ON!!

So as of last week, room 2 is drawing about 1300 watts as opposed to (90+90+1200+540=1830watts) at full capacity. I guess I should write that kind of stuff in my journal too lol.

^^^pretty sure Puff got his for winning the party cup comp.

Unreal bro. You have what everyone wants...an Apache and a A51. I kinda thought it came but didn't want to ruin your surprise. SGS would be my go to for veg till you need more light. I was going to tell you to hold off for the new gear. It will be worth the wait.
2 or 3 gallon doesn't matter that much. Just veg till they are to the right size and then flip. Your in coco and fabric pots so you can get away with lots of veg and not get bound. The males should show by nodes 6-8.
Looking like a bunch of sexy bitches to me though :-D

Thanks Dawg. Yeah, I still have MOAB in my setup. Haven't really found a late bloom booster that performs better and the price is sweet. Didn't change the taste or aroma either from what I was using before.

Update time: Probably 2-3 more weeks of veg depending on how things go. They are looking great and have taken to the new light very well. Right now I'm just using the sgs for vegging until the last week then I'll run both to finish off vegging them and transition into bloom. Both of the Violator Kush plants look pretty damn similar to each other. The Cotton Candy Bubble Gum not so much. One is super squatty, the other is a runt, and the third looks good, although has more of a sativa appearance to the leaves. So if they turn female, I'll be looking at a couple different phenos.

Very nice indeed Puffn!
I am really itching to get a hold on a lamp now.
Actually have a spare aquaponic setup without lamp now, but tags recently gave out info about new gear from Apache in mid july to start of august. Just not sure if they will be able to ship it to europe, so it may just be a huge waste of time :|

Thanks peoples! Not sure if apache ships to europe or not. My guess is that they do but I'm not certain. I'd definitely wait for the new gear if you can. I'll be picking some of it up as soon as it drops. If you are looking for something less expensive but of good quality in the meantime, check out area 51. They ship to europe and so far my light seems like a good one.
