Pythium Nightmare - Help please

Hey Guys. Having issues with root rot. Current set up

Single bucket DWC
5.9 PH
70-72 F is the room temp
55 Humidity
Water Temp 18-21 C

I had to cut down my last stuff because this root rot took over. So This are my new test plants

I have voodoo Juice in the bucket here - clearly didn't help
I have another one with 2 ML of bleach for 15L of water ( The bleach evaporated out, Now also showing a tiny sign of root rot, I found the bleach stunted growth way to much for this to be a solution)

I Just bought a UV light for my RO water so that will help?
Also Purchased Hydroguard. Gonna ran another 2 test plants to see what happens
Im not 100% against a water chiller. But I feel like that's going a bit far

Truly, Im just looking for any insight for what others did to beat this, Im not even 100% Pythium, but from what I've read it some to be?

Your going to have to brew a compost tea. Its a post on here look it up. It saved me from the deaths lol ive been there. You already have hydrogaurd now get some earthworm casting pcompost and molasses.

I'd really suggest you give the sterile system a try again.
Most folks that run that style use pool shock instead of bleach.
I used to run my dwc/rdwc systems with bennies as my only defense.
Started with hydroguard and switched to Garden Friendly Fungicide, as it's much more concentrated.
Sterile systems are pretty impervious to root pathogens, so if you're having those types of problems that's what I'd look at.

buy a chlorine pool test kit.
Reach 0.5-1 ppm every day. In practice, this means putting few drops of bleach once a day.

I did this and it worked, no more pythium.. i can go without changing reservoir for weeks and water smells like first day.
The only con is you have to put it every day, or every two, cause chlorine dissipates in one day. So if you keep it 0.5-1 ppm your water will be no infected at all.

Buy one like this one, you only need chlorine part. You test cause you want not overdo with chlorine and this allows you to know how much chlorine you should put

Hey just my 2 cents!!! First time hydro grower! I honestly don't think that's root rot! I was having the same problem and even cutting the roots I thought were dead off! But as long as you're seeing white new root growth and you can wash/ massage that stuff off the roots, you should be good!

Are you running any nutes in your water right now? They still look like babies to me!
Also make sure there's no light leaks!

My plants grow well then complete stunt in growth. Im 100% sure it root rot. I am running nuts but nothing to dye to the roots

Ya, This is basically what I have to do. My friend uses town water and has zero issues. Our town water has high level of Chlorine ( I was hoping to avoid adding chlorine)

Not convinced you have Pythium there. A tell tale sign of Pythium is sloughing off of the roots. The outer cortex of the root will rub off in essence leaving the inner cortex of the root if that makes sense. Outer area will be slimy and mushy.

So silica or some type of guard to protect the roots from high water temp and shock is a must!
I also run some sensizyme, which is an enzyme that eats dead root mass and turns it into nutrients.

@Paintngrow. your roots look good to me! If you're extra worried about them I would just give them a rinse and see if any of that stuff comes off! But I see plenty of new white growth! I think you're good!
