So I'm struggling with making a decision about lighting for my 4x4. I like the idea of building my own light using qb96's but am a little apprehensive about it. I also like the SF2000 but I would need 2 and for that price I feel I could build a better light. Someone make a decision for me. Thanks guys

HLG for me. Use code "RIU10" for 10% off. Every time I hear people talking about the 96's I'm tempted to buy more lights I don't need right now.

They're not QB's. QB's are the boards, but still nice choice.

And I'd get the more power drivers and just turn them down.

Do a search because there's a bunch of people running 4-6 of them in a 4x4.

Well shit. Sorry, totally new to these. I've only used hid's in the past. Only have 2 grows under my belt but the the experience and info on this site has been awesome.

i got hlg-600-54b for a 4x4. I have 6 96's on that driver and usually run it around 500 watts in peak flower. you could probably get away with a 480. when i put my 600 on full it runs at 640w probably enough for a 5x5 if i ever upgrade.

two 320s. idk about two 240s but probably enough.

Just placed my order. It was like 435 shipped for 6 of them so im pretty happy with that. It will be a little over my budget when its all said and done but i think i will be proud of the build. Anyone know a place in the states to get drivers from, or should i just go the Amazon rout?

Nice. Congrats man. Good choice. I try to avoid Amazon anymore when I can. I've gotten grow shit from them that looked used, so I sent it back.

I used a T5 for awhile and sent it back. I'm sure they just resold it. Not cool.

I don't know much about the qb 96's but I'm pretty sure I always read that they are +/- 54v. Some other guys brought the lne drivers to light on arrow, so maybe check out these 185 watters for $20 a piece. Seems like three of these drivers, 2x96's per driver, would be a pretty cheap way to power them and fit your tent pretty well.

I'm still new in all of this led stuff, but hopefully that's at least a starting point to search around for some drivers. Best of luck with the build and grows though sir.

Good for you OP. Id like to add the other benefits to going qb96:
- lightpoints: you get much better spread and even light with 6 points of light, even though smaller, than two boards, which will leave edges and corners wanting.
- expandability: the qb96 can be run really hard and with 6 you could easily expand even though you need higher hanging height.
- DIY High: you feel awesome once your light is hanging and then even better when you tweak your lights for maximum intensity. It hits everyone like a surprise.

I ended up getting 2 hlg320's. 3 lights per. Does this mean I will only be running each light at 110ish watts at full power or am I thinking about it wrong?
