Question about DWC

Well you should transplant that into a NETPOT LID for a 5gallon bucket to be honest....If your trying to DWC. Or Transplant it to a smaller flood n drain table but I certainly dont see that setup being beneficial for your plant in the near future when it starts to grow.

Thanks for the reply brother, I already dropped it into dwc... question, are my bubbles ok in that pic? Should there be more or less?

The smaller the bubbles the better. The micro-diffusers are expensive and a waste of money if you ask me. The Large Cylinder air stones are my favorite. But I mean... air is air.... Some argue plants require less oxygen than fish and fish only need a small waterfall/waterpump to supply all their oxygen. Other growers swear by air stones and others swear by strictly using water falls.

I run 2 commercial air pumps with all large cylinder air stones. One pump per system. @ttystikk Has me convinced about dropping the air stones for a run.... We'll see ;) If you are lucky enough to have him pop in here and throw some advice around, he knows most of his shit.

Thanks again man, I been doing this for some time but this is the first time I've done a dwc. I was just so used to soil that I was extremely confused. I didn't know if I should put nutes in it or not. I wasn't sure how many bubbles I should need or anything lol I pretty much winged it. I ended up needed 4 gallons of water and I dropped 1/4 of Jacks classic bloom per gallon. I also dropped 8ml of hydrogaurd. Should I drop some bat guano or should the Jacks bloom be enough?

Lol, I'm touched!

Don't listen to a word of it. I run waterfalls/topfeed thru hydroton and my plants are only six feet tall.

Use hydroponic nutrients not soil nutrients. Read up on the DWC basics.

Yeah you really want hydro nutes that arent too viscous. Also less is really more in DWC. I got some strains that do not like more than 1-1.2EC at like 3-4ft tall.

You should also wait until the plant is bigger before you transplant to the bucket lids. Though they look like 4-5" lids. I had 6" and kept using them. I should probably switch. 6" take forever to fill if you put them in at that size and ran the risk of not getting enough water to the center(where the plant is) unless i planted it really deep, but then light would leak from the holes in the netpot lid not yet covered because the plant is tiny and planted low.

Do you have a pH or ppm/EC meter? 1/4 strength might be fine depending on how much there full strength is. Most manufacturers full strength definition is around 1.5-2.5EC.

I do wanna make the switch to waterfalls when I go RDWC. I buy the cheap $1.80 - 6 inch blue, trapezoidal types and throw them away at the end.

Damn, I'm a fooooool. I ONLY use the bloom buster, always. What if I drop some N along with the nutes?? What I'm understanding is that the plant isn't getting the N it needs running these nutes in dwc. Would this work? Anywho, I'm going to run it and see what happens. If anything I'll drop another seed and buy the right stuff
