Question About Earth Juice.

I am a new grower. I have chosen to use earth juice for my nutrient. I was wondering if anyone has used this nutrient before. The directions tell me to use the grow, bloom and all the micros together for all stages, however I feel like i should omit the bloom in veg state and omit the veg in the blooming state. Is this a good strategy? Does it matter if I use all the fertilizers at once? Also does earth juice work better as a foliage spray or water addition?

I wouldn't go spraying that stuff around, it stinks like garbage. I only use that stuff because its organic and so I can feel better about the fact that all my other additives are chemical. I still can't get over the smell. I only use it for late flowering because funnily enough it gives the pot a nice taste, kinda like fruit cake.

I use earth juice but only have Grow, Bloom, and Cataylist. I think my plants are lacking in micro nutes. I do mix cataylist and grow together as instructions state on bottle.

Get some Microblast, also from Earth Juice and that will take care of any micro issues.

Ya I have all of the set. I have actually read their little booklet i got with it. And I learned some things. The first thing is that I found out that I should not use grow and bloom together for this type of plant since it has set stages of growth and there was a chart for it. Microblast can be used as a foliar spray if wanted. Also assist can be nixed by just adding 2 drops of dish soap to your water. However it is organic and soap isnt really. The booklet says all of the nutrients should be used every water. IS it going to be over fertilized if i do it every water? Should I do it every other watering?

You are a new grower, EJ has been around for awhile. I wouldn't try and out think them on how to use their products.:wall:

You can leave the bloom go in the veg state (I do), but you will need the grow in the bloom state since the bloom has no N.

Micro and catalyst all the way through.

Meta-K is also good to have if you are using nothing else in your mix. I use some, but I also have kelp meal in my soil mix as a source of K.

I don't foliage spray at all. Besides this stuff being 'aromatic' as noted, it is an invitation to mold problems, at least for me.

Yes, you can mix it all at once, just don't do it full strength till you see how the plants react. Like 1tsp/gallon, not the 1tbl/gal. It's easy to increase the dose, not so easy to take out if you over do it.:!:

Be sure to bubble it for 24 hrs before use. Wakes up all those micro beasties in there and really helps. This is very important to get the full benefit of this stuff, along with the proper pH.

It's good stuff! Good luck.:weed:

I use it once a week, which usually works out to every other watering, but sometimes it's water, water, EJ.

Once/week is easier for me, because some of my plants drink faster than others.

Before I forget, also make sure you get some pH UP, you will need it

Even after bubbling for 24+hours, my pH is below 4 and has to be corrected up.

One of the posters on here said Earth Juice smells awful...yeah I have a bottle, but I've smelled NOTHING worse than Bill's Perfect Spray n' Grow (6-11-5), now that stuff smells like a 1500 gallon country septic tank thats packed full 20 years of rotten s-h-i-t and p-i-s-s, and then had the concrete lid dug up and removed with that first blast in the face of putrid stench ! :spew:

oh god, thanks wet for the PH info. I dont have the resources or time to bubble it so ill need that.
If you can't bubble, at least get another bucket and pour the mixed nutes back and forth 2 or 3 times/day, for 24-48 hrs.

Really need to agitate EJ and get some air in there to wake up the microbeasties and get it 'activated'.

Down the line, if you can get a cheap aquarium air pump and air stone, it makes life so much easier. Great for making organic tea also.

Can probably get the whole set up at Wal Mart for ~$15 or so. Don't get this at a hydro shop, they will charge $25 for a $10 air pump.:hump::roll:

Or MycoGrow Soluble from www.fungi.com that cost $5.95/oz and makes 12 gallons of solution.

Those company's don't make it, but buy it from places like FungiPerfecti, put it in a pretty bottle and charge 10x more $$$$$.

BTW, you only need to apply it once and just keep feeding.

would it then be wise to carmelize some sugar and throw it into the mix if i was to bubble it? To give some food to the micro beasts? Also would some of the nutrients get evaportated if I bubble it for longer than say 48 hours?

You need blackstrap molasses, unsulphured. For sure, it has to be unsulphured.

Sugar is too refined to work well. The micros need the basic carbos in the molasses, that is refined out of the sugar.

In the grocery store @~$2.50/bottle. ~$10+ in the hydro store. LOL
