  • i have a question i dont see talked about.
Say im growing an uknown strain and i think its ready to harvest so i throw it in totall darkness but before i go and i decide it can still go more. Can i throw it back under 12 or will that hurt it or no? I havent personally done it but i am just curious if that is possible. The close up one was the 22 of nov and other 2 nov 30 and the close ups are the 1st

It's liable to hermie. I did that 3 times with an autoflower that wouldn't do the auto part of it's job. I won't be buying seeds for that strain for awhile.

Its not hermied im almost positive and it was a clone. Anyways that didt answer my question about 48hrs of dark then back to 13/12 if they arent done like i initially thought. Also am i close or at hRvest?

Stress is a no no and can cause a plant to hermie, putting a plant into darkness for 48 hrs then back to 12/12 throws off its circadian rhythm causing stress which can cause it to hermie

Do you have a jewelers loop or some kind of scope for the tric if not get one Radio Shack has them if not Amozon.

The pistils are white you have time still.

Best thing you can do is go buy yourself a pocket microscope x30 or something and look at your trichomes then you haven't got to mess around with your timer or risk fucking your plant up all together, do your self a favour and buy one they're like £7 or less

I have one and they are cloudy with a few half clear half cloud and Some amber (on flowers no leaves). Also can anyone give me a rough estimate on this next picture in regards to how far into flower it could possibly be. I was thinking 3 or 4 since the resim is forming. But any input please so i can determine which week.im on.

See my last 3 grows i have always grown out one unknown bag seed that i donr know harvest window on and on top of that i like making shit difficult now so its easier later. I just hate the fucking harvest window lol im color blind so that doesnt help much i need a digital microscope but i ghetto grow atm. But ive had nothing but great results *knock on wood* also the main branches on my flowering one are starting to hollow out or dry up isnt that another sign of harvest

I just got me a digital USB scope on Amozon for 23 bucks model innolife works great and you can take snapshots of what you're looking at.

One thing came to mind about your desire to give more light for more growth: People do something called "far red pulse(?)" in flower. It's also called "flower initiator." When lights go out they turn on a far red (730nm) LED for 10 minutes which triggers the plant's dark process[1] which would normally take 1-2 hours of darkness. By doing this, they can shorten the dark period, and run the lights longer. Something like 14 on, 10 off. More growth in the same 24 hour period without interrupting the hormone process that keeps it in flower.

See this thread: https://www.rollitup.org/t/flowering-with-cree-bulbs.656542/page-14#post-9611211 (read the two posts preceding that one.).

[1] Creating a hormone I believe, which burns off when the lights are on. That's why shortening the lighting period caused the plant to flower. When the hormone isn't burnt off beyond a certain level, the plant believes it's time to flower.
