Question about nutrients....

I recently purchased some nutrients from the local hydro store and I noticed I accidentally picked up a bottle of Advanced Nutrients Iguana juice (Bloom) along with PH Perfect (micro, grow, bloom). My question is, instead of using the PH perfect bloom, can I replace it with Iguana Juice bloom for the flowering cycle? Or since I vegged with the ph perfect line, should I stay using that? :?:

Go ahead and switch it up! you don't have to stay with one line of nutrients to grow ive used many different brands in one grow before. especially since all your doing is switching out a bloom for a bloom. take notes and you will find what works best with time.

nice, thank you hazefeen! it's just one of those things i wasn't sure about.
So long as you don't exceed EC levels (over feed) you can use any and all combination of products.

In fact it's a great way to learn that spending a fortune on ADVANCED NUTRIENTS doesn't make you a GRAND MASTER
it makes you someone who paid a lot for a product that does exactly the same job as something that costs a lot less.

Advanced nutrients are going to die out in popularity real soon. People are finding the cheaper alternatives all the time that are par with advanced nutes

First start your re-hab, by calling it plant food. OK? :)

"Shit is just shit, but my shit is the good shit." George Carlin

Plant food. I don't use Bloom nutes. But, I did. I don't use Veg nutes, but I did.

I use organic, kelp based, Sea Grow 16-16-16. But, Miracle Grow will work better than AN or DM or GM or CN. OK?

Any one part powder will serve you better. IAC, I have 3/4 jugs of all that, I am willing to leave in a Southwest Bay Area geo-cache if anyone wants it.

Those are just large scale hydroponic rip off. It is not even a ganja rip off. Just in general, rip-off.

AN makes good nutes but they are way overpriced and over hyped. I used them before I switched to Blue Planet. I found BPN to provide me with better nutrients at like half the cost. Plus they dont sell a bunch of crap that growers dont even need like AN does. I think AN sells shit just for the sake of selling it. They know that some growers will think if they sell it, then they must need it.

As far as saying Mircale Gro is better than AN or GH... I'd have to disagree. No all-in-one nutrient is worth a shit at growing cannabis. The reason companies like Blue Planet and AN have 2 and 3 part nutrients instead of single part nutes is because SINGLE PART NUTES ARE INCOMPLETE. You cannot combine all the needed elements together in concentrated form without some of them combining to form new compounds. This is why you mix 2 and 3 part nutes in water and never together in concentrated form. Miracle Gro will start off ok, but over time you'll notice deficiencies. At least with my experience with it.

Over all, try to make sure your Potassium levels at least double what your Phosphorus levels are. Phosphorus makes the buds grow big (we all know that) but a lot of folks dont realize that its the potassium that makes those buds really compact and tight. That is why I dont use those generic nutrients that provide all three ratios the same... like 7-7-7 or something to that effect.
I use the BPN 3 part so it has:
Grow 2-1-5
Bloom 0-5-4
Micro 5-0-1
---------------
total 7-6-10 when combined in equal parts (which is not typical as you'll use more grow during veg and more bloom during flowering) but you get the idea... Potassium is soooo important to a good harvest. So make sure whatever nutes you run, you have lots of it.

Well, you should look around for the myth of potassium, here on RIU. My other Uncles might have a lot to say about that.

I use 16-16-16 at increasing strengths for 14 weeks, then back down for the two weeks at the end. After 8 weeks, I change from 24 hr light CFL to 12 x 12, HPS@ 1000w.

And you can read my journal. I have been very honest with myself. I used think that was all correct.

Now I say, why bother? The plant is getting, we are not giving. When she wants, she gets what she wants, if it is there.

So, I have been dead lost in all this. And if it doesn't please you, it sure pleases the ones I gave my hundreds of special dollars to, for this.

What matters is concentration. If it is all there in similar but, not shocking, concentrations, the girl is at the buffet, dog. :)

Pick and choose, time. I set out a little Silica and Cal/Mag, treats, as well. But, I always mind the concentrations.

I grow in coir and clay balls. Feed every day. They take what they like and watch their waistlines get....Rubenesque.

That is incorrect, dyna gro is a one part nutrient, one part per veg and one per flower atleast. That one bottle literally has everything in it to keep the plants healthy green through there lifespan.

Thanks for all the advice guys, all this is really opening my eyes and maybe experiment with another brand on my next run. Prolly try a couple different brands with two different grows and see which really works for me and my budget. What are some comparable or better nutes out there that you may have experience with? I have only experience with GH for a couple of cycles and then switched over to PH Perfect 3 part AN. I have a small grow and the 3 ppart bottles (micro, grow, bloom) only cost me around 9 bucks per liter bottle. Seemed like a good buy, but again I'm still pretty new to nutrients and hydro.

If you are on a budget just use Miracle Grow.

I use a step up....in price only. Sea Grow....kelp organic.

There is Maxsea if you really insist on pay 2x that SeaGrow.

I have tried it all. There is no such thing as one of these nutes is better and one of them is the BEST.

That is just hype. It is plant food. All ya need is plant food. Simple. Anything will do it.

That is not the point that is the rip-off.

$9 a liter? NOOOOOOooooooooooo. But, I can top that. I have some $60 a gal stuff from Dutch Masters.

Just shit. I have the 3 ft tall bushes in 2 months. And I know I can do that with Miracle Grow.

I have 40 pounds of various NUTES.

I use plant food, not nutes.
