My girls are about 6-9 inches and good spacing between nodes.... Should I cut the bottom leaves and new growth from the bottom of the plant? Like there is like 2 inches of side shoot growth near the bottom of the plant and is inching upward.... Or should I wait until the plants gets bigger & just cut it out and trip it out to encourage the top of the plant to grow faster and put the energy into that? basically should I keep trimming new nodes/leaves/ growth near the bottom off at it continues to grow??? Thanks! I'm new to S.O.G. technique.

I think that is tall enough to start SOG training. Take all buds off the bottom 1/3 of plant. Leave the fan leaves for food. Some people remove the fan leaves also. Do one with the fan leaves removed from the bottom 1/3 and one with fan leaves still on and see what happens.My girls are about 6-9 inches and good spacing between nodes.... I've read about the 1/3 idea. I will give it a try.... So I should just cut off all the nodes and shoots coming from the bottom... leaving some fan leaves.. It sound right I just am hesitant to to take off flowering spots... sounds about right then? Thanks. O and the little tiny shoots in the center of the plant that are like 1/2 inch just pinch those out two so they wont grow out and focus on the top? Cool, I'm planning them to be about 6-6 1/2 at harvest.
