hey, so recently ive been building a sealed room with co2. the room is 9ft x 10ft. i have an existing 6” fan with a carbon filter that i was planning on placing in the centre of the room befor i used to use that same fan and carbon filter to creat negative pressure in my old room do you guys think my existing fan and carbon filter will be able to prevent any smell during peak flower from escaping the room?

A scrubber can remove the odor in the room. Sized properly. Then you have potentially no odor to escape. No presssure issues. Provides air circulation.

My space is only 4x8x8.

I use this cheap combo. My need is for the filtering of particulates and crap out of the air.

Yesterday I walked into the garage and smelled my grow.

So I turned up the speed on my scrubber a couple notches.

Today, no odor in garage.
I'm hoping for weed so dank that I run out of fan speed and need a quality filter! Lol

I find that with Phresh or Phat filters I can control odor really well if I can cycle the room volume once every 2 minutes or better.

So if I have 5000 cuft I need a total of at least 2500 CFM of scrubber action. I can get away with less until things really start to stink in mid to late flower.

@Renfro this is excellent information i have 567 cu.ft my 6” vortex fan pulls theoretically 497 cfm with 0 static pressure so i would need approx 283 cfm. so i should be good with the current fan. high five thanks for the info i feel much better now about the current setup. on a side now im super excited to finish building my room i just need to setup a bit of duct work and finish the drywall and build some custom insulated doors with a rubber gasket and i should be done

Keep in mind, I am using Phat and Phresh filters. If you have something cheap then you may need to compensate with more CFM.

vortex fans
Thats my preferred brand of fan. I have a bunch, some were used when I bought them off CL 8 years ago. I have not had one fail yet. The bearing quality is second to none and I suspect you will not have any issues with the fan until sometime after 10 years of running.

I built a room in the garage as well, I decided to scrub the entire garage this time, the room is pretty sealed and I smoke weed out here so it’s always dank.

I use a 10x48 can lite filter with 10 Inch fan in my 10x24 sealed room. I can smell it when I walk in the main entrance door to my garage in peak flower. If I was really worried about smell I'd double it up but I'm just trying to be polite and not smell up the whole neighborhood.
