Question About Temperature and Color(Purple)

I am growing Twilight Strain this time around, and it is a purple strain. The first time i grew it i had a premature harvest at around 50 days, and nothing was purple. My tempuratures were at 75 day and 65 night then. This time around my temps are around 55 degrees the whole time even during day, yes i know not a suitable temp for cannabis but the plant seems to be showing no problems at all. Should i see purple with these temps or does there have to be a rapid change in temperature from Day-night.

it turning purple doesn't matter! Ive grown purple strains that never turn purple! and dont care. one of my buddies crops turned purple from temp but was only the leaves not the buds them selves, so after it was trimmed there was very little purple left! When i'm checking out a bud, I check out the bud not the extra leaf that was left on it thats a pretty color. If it wants to be purple it will be, and just because it is a cross from something with purp in it doesnt mean it will be purple. I haven't grown twilight before, but you should just stick to what the plant needs and if it wants to turn purple then so be it, if not, so be it!
I'm not saying temp cant turn the BUD purple but it is NOT worth possibly stressing your plants to make them look pretty. might have a higher sale value if they are purple but that doesn't really matter if you get a small harvest.

yeh i totally agree with you nogutsgrower that you sacrifice thc, and yield but i have plenty to myself and am experimenting

Then go for it! Nothing like a good experiment! I have a separate grow closet 2.5'x4x8 that I use just for experiments (breeding, new strain, temps, amount of ferts, etc.)

yeh, my question is though since it started at 55 degrees will it not change because it will adapt to this temp. Does it need a rapid change

Im not sure but i'd ASSUME that its the stress from a sudden change that helps buds turn purple. Also try using icecubes when flushing before harvest this might do the trick

you could also pack the root zone with bags of ice in your final week... that also works. I'd say just go find a quality purple strain tho, if thats a possibility.
