Question regarding topping verses yield/size

I'm growing for my own personal medical purposes and honestly I don't find myself medicating with more than 1-2oz from each strain. Would not topping a 10" clone and flowering it, reduce plant size, grow my plant into a single cola, still allowing me to get the 1-2 oz of premium bud that I would need?

Here's a prime example of what I mean:

I'd love to take a clone from this Ripped Bubba that I have going, but I'm not sure where I should be taking this clone from. Need to figure out if the clone is going to come from the top, or from the bottom branches. What do you think taking into consideration what I said above?

Topping is usually done to increase the number of colas.
If you really wanted just one you could strip some of the side branches. Not sure why you would do this.

As far as clones go, I would take them from the bottom. But if you top correctly, that will make a great clone

I have a 4'x4' flowering area and in 5gal buckets that's 3 mid/large sized plants. I wanted to have more of a strain variety than that and was trying to figure out a way to keep the plants smaller and still get what I need.. hoping to bump that from 3 strains to 4-5 strains.

Does having multiple colas affect potency at all? Would the lower bud on a single cola plant be less potent than the top of the single cola?

First great job that plants looks bitchin. Second that plant seems to have node spacing that isn't stacked closely together so for my taste I generally top. Multiple colas doesn't decrease quality only absent of light+air. That's why we want to top so that our light can penetrate to all the buds on that plant. If a bud is receiving adequate light near the bottom it will still form into a solid nugget with the same potency. What we don't want is buds in low light these turn out to be underdeveloped sometimes referred to as popcorn bud.
