Questions about HPS light guts

I bought a 150w HPS light about a year ago. Recently I decided I wanted to try and take it apart and make a cool tube. I thought it would be cheaper but when I looked at all the tutorials and opened my light up. I noticed I had extra parts?

My question is do I need these? If not is there any advantages to using them? One of them is the ignighter and the other I am not 100% sure. I see pictures of people making them but I never see the ignighters on the cool tubes.

Did some more reading. Is it true that u can cut the ignighter out of the circuit and it converts your balast? to a MH working one?

no idea -- i duct-taped everything together that wasnt the square bits of hot metal. you could cool tube it.

i tried to make my own...bought one.

I am thinking about just buying one to be on the safe side. But times are hard, money is short. haha I should be back to sellin bud again on Monday hopefully that will bring in a little extra cash.

do you already have a ballast? i got a quality 400 from htg grow supply, and a 40 dollar 4'' cool tube (just light) from ebay. mix and match; working cool tube!

and best thing, i still have the other part, if my needs change

What I showed in the picture is everything that came with it. I have a picture in my 2nd grow journal in my signature. Unfortunatly that 2nd grow failed because of some argument problems. But no worries.
