Questions About Upcoming Harvest

Here are two northern lights autoflowers, starting week 9 since sprout today.

Could you please give me a rough estimate of how long they have to go? They’re on a 24/7 light cycle, grown in 100% coco coir with simple a/b nutes.

The buds on top are far more developed than the buds below and the ones inside the canopy. I know people will say I should have cut them off a long time ago, but I wanted to leave the plant as unaltered as possible when it came to the buds.

So, when harvest time comes would I be better off cutting off the more developed buds first and letting the others mature, or should I wait until all of the buds have matured and caught up first before chopping?

Thanks for your help.

I'd say more than 4 weeks
Maybe 6 to even consider looking at readiness.
If the tops are way further along then you can chop them when they're ripe and wait another bit to chop the rest or chop it all at once. Up to you and your situation.

I did 2 runs of northern lights auto 18/6 and took 13 weeks
Is it even worth my time doing two plants? I know northern lights is supposed to yield high, but at 13 weeks is the yield going to be worth the time and $ invested? If it’s only a couple ounces I’m going to be pissed aha.

Think I’ll buy some faster seeds next time after seeing people with plants finishing in 60 days...

No plant is going to finish that fast really. The one that finish that early 9 times out of 9 lol pull early. It good having a strong pull out game with other ladies just not these ladies. I’ll be honest you may not yield worth a shit these first few grows. As for lower growth heres what I do. From the top of the pot i go up 12 inches and take it all off. Top the plants several times and let them go. generally in a commercial setting I shoot for 3/4 of a lbs a plant dry. Home plants vary but are generally higher in yield dry. your hardest lesson to learn doing this will be patience. But once you’ve got the grow dialed in and all that good stuff you’ll be fine. Will it happen over night? No but one day you’ll have more shit then you and a few buddies can smoke. Or you’ll give up and trash everything or sell it and go back to buying.

Excellent advice, all of it taken on board.

Appreciate that.
