Questions on outdoor growing conditions.

I'm not really living in the most ideal location to grow outdoors. Summers get pretty nice but ends early as frost hits late September and there is nothing but boggy land for miles. Is it possible to grow a healthy fully matured plant in these conditions. I'm mostly concerned about the boggy land. Any tips would be appreciated.

you may be able to get some indica strains to finish in time. start them indoors so they get big enough to survive easier.
if not enough time to finish, try looking into some autoflower strains.

Well its still possible. As far as the short growing season, just try to find a strain that has a short flowering period, hence earlier harvest. to help you out a bit, say it takes 8 weeks to completly flower a plant, and frost starts end of septemeber. So that means your plant will have to go into flowering at the beginning of augest (beginning of augest to end of september= 8weeks). One way to do that is by putting a garbage bag over the plant or something to block the light, making the plant only get 12 hours of light a day, making it go into flowering. that make sense?

As far as the boggy areas, thats not very good, wet soily conditions can rot the roots, killing the plant. One way to get around that is put 5 gallon buckets filled with good soil and put them in the ground with holes in bottom of bucket to drain out through the ground. Have a plant in each bucket. hope that helps, happy toking :joint:

NL grower?... If I were to associate your nickname with the Netherlands I would say plant some tulips... Northern Holland? Holland's Hope!

Thanks for the suggestions every bit of knowledge I gain will only help out my future outdoor attempts.

I have not read much on auto flowering plants but I will do something

Planting in pots would probably be my best bet since I don't want to take the chance on root rot I was just hoping to avoid buying soil.

I live in Atlantic Canada so weather will play a big part on my grow. I was going to grow indoors til they reach about 8 - 10". Any suggestions on some strains I could look into that would work well with the conditions I have. I have heard some good things about Himalayan Gold from Greenhouse seeds but I was thinking shorter plants might be better with a shorter grow season. I'm going to look into Holland's Hope, grows well in cool climates, sounds promising to me!

As was stated earlier, I would go with some auto flowers which will GUARANTEE a harvest and then at the same time plant some of the faster strains. Google "early girl"... there are others, just make sure they are fast. Good luck

out. :blsmoke:
