will a 6inch exhaust and carbon filter at 400 cfm be enough for 2 1000w hps/mh room size 11x9 but only using 7x5 i can have walking space all around 12 plants total also have at 10,000btu a/c running in the room
 
400 cfm seems a little much for the room. Depends on how you have the lights. At 400cfm you will need a pretty good size intake. Give it a practice run and dial it in. Do you have a digital temp/rh meter in the room?
 
ya i do....in the process of getting the light have everything but the lights and exhaust/carb.....still need an intake with the a/c unit? thinking of running the a/c unit at 5mins on and 10mins off and so on
 
Sence that is what I did last grow I can tell you yes it will work. But a/c will run all the time. So what I did for my upgrade was add a 600 light. And now the upgraded to a 745 cfm 8 inch steped down to 6 inch. Run a inlet from outside to onside of each light and a out let to the other. Outlet runs outside as well.and is on when lights are on. Used my old 400 6inch to a 600 cfm filter set to a temp switch so it's not running all the time. Temps stay low so a/c is on about 1 hour a day now. Also added a 245 6inch fan to bring in freash air from out side. I run that at 15 minutes every hour. But yes what you have will work but for an extra 160 bucks you will save 200+ over the grow.
 
yup thinkin of getting a temp switch for the exhaust...yup was trying to avoid getting another fan with the a/c unit...might be a dumb ? but do use use bug screens on both ends of the ducting?. but if i do get an intake 4inch sounds good?
 
would a 4inch intake work at 180cfm be good? also would i only need the a/c unti to turn on maybe every hr with intake?
 
A 4 inch would work fine for a intake. As long as you keeping a neg pressur room you good. And it's hard to say about the ac. Every time you change something it changes everything. It sounds good but will only know when you try it.
 
ya right after i posted i answered my own ? would know how long till i see the temp in the room as its a 7x5x8 area should be able to keep a neg press with exhaust at 400 and a inatke at 180 right?
 
I run a new setup for 12 hours without the plants. Getting everything in order for move in the next day. I watch temps RH. Change what I can and find ways to fix anything needed or order something eles. If you have your room sealed with plastic or Mylar you should see it lift off the walls shortly after fans start. But if your just painted walls you won't see or feel anything. But you can smoke in the room ( sence plants arnt in there yet) and within a few minutes the smell should be gone. If everything is working good after 12-24 hours of full run your ready.
 
ya thanks alot warlock ......also u know anything about electricity standard room has i think 20 amp and 2 1000w is around 18amps can i just switch the 20amp to a 30 in the the circuit breaker? if u know thanks or if anyone does

Depends, what your wires are rated to, odds are they are 20g wires, so you will need to replace all the wiring in the walls as well. Unless you want an electrical fire and your walls bursting open with flames. Your more than welcome to just switch them out, but I wouldnt. You will have enough draw from your plugs for your lights, you will need to find another breaker for other wiring. Remember depending on where you live your plugs in the wall might be wired differently. In older houses for example they are more common to be run in series than a ciricuit. So you would have different breakers for different plugs. Now-a-days say you have 4 plugs in your room, all 4 of them run off of the same breaker so you do not have unlimited power, you still have .02A to work with out of the rest of your sockets.
 
yeah i was also planning on running a 400w i n a closet for 2mothers plus 10,000btu unit plus intake and exhaust so would need to do some knd of wiring dont really know anything about this but i knew this would be an issue just trying to getting everything safe in the grow
 
What he said. Depending on how the room is setup if there is more then 1 outlet it might be 2 brakers. But you can run a heavy gauge cord from anoter room and braker. Use that for fans and other items. Use the 1 outlet for your lights but have them fire up 5 minutes apart. They run at 18 but firing you will trip if at once. I would also get a new 20 amp braker. The old one might be worn out and trip easy. But look at your wires of the outlet if your 14 gauge you can bump to 25 amp.
 
Not at this time but feel free to ask. Sence my flower room is 7x14x8 and not in my house I can at least tell you how I fixed some of the problems you will face. Granted I have 15k in my 3 rooms. And all the power I want. But it's close to the same. But with the power issues you might want to think about 2x600's and good reflection. That might save you a headache. Yeild a little lower but might just be worth it for you. And upgrade stuff later when crop comes down. Sometimes going big send you home.
 
well i actually have an electrican that lives across the street hes coo but havent asked him anything just for privacy and safety issues u know..... thanks for the advice and type soil,lights and nutes u use ? hydro,soil,aero?
 
heck ya wanna see that im currently finishing my first grow 4plants under 400w hps i know kinda pushing it but 3 of tghem are done next week and my citrus saturn og still has like 2to3 weeks left maybe 2 or 3 more grows with soil and then i wanna try hydro been reading all these forums with good info on hydro...
