i bought some rapid rooters i placed the seeds(ungermenated) in them now its been two days seeds still look the same it just need time i hope her another pic

MY GROW ROOM:

i have it around 78 to 85 degress a lil hot to help the seeds
humidity around 50%
lights have been on the whole time
i use a spray bottle filled with 5.5 ph water (spay every once in awhile when plugs look a lil dry )

Okay im thinking everythings fine jus need a few days but not sure should i try to raise the humidity if i should how can i tried using a humidifier but does make a difference in the room or should i jus let it be?

you can build a wooden frame the size of the container to be placed on top of your container and cover it in plastic wrap....thatll keep your humidity high

do i need the humidity or will the seeds sprout on there own with wat i have so far or do i have to build a humidity dome

well honestly, things happen faster when you pre-germinate the seeds in cup or dish full of water... you also have the chance at this stage to eliminate non-fertile seeds from the good ones, because they simply dont ever crack open in the water... the way you are doing it now, you have the possibility that a seed will not sprout (bad seed) + the 50% chance it will be male when, ever ever, they do flower.

It only takes like 1-3 days to germinate... Why didn't you just pull out a wet paper towel? Not cutting you down, just wondering if there was a reason?

Good lookin' set up!KEEP SMOKE ALIVE!!

I agree, you should have germinated them before putting them in the netpots. I am not sure if they will germinate in there or not. Guess you will see. Nice set up though.:peace:

yea cuz when i bought the rapid rooters i asked the guy if i had to to germinate the seeds he said i had to put seeds in the plugs and that germinating them will mess roots when i transplant them

Gotcha. Thanks bud. Never used plugs, but I'm so used to germinating I probably would have done it anyway.

by the way i forgot to mention my dwc isnt filled with water all the way to net pots im lettin it sit with the airstones on to take away the chlorine

a fellow Austinite.. Nice.

Im currently growing in South Austin myself...

Tell me, what light(s?) do you have under that reflector?

Nice set up

as i was saying, next time, just germinate in a dish and plant only those that crack open. Keep plugs moist during germination, but they should be able to breath also. I actually just sprout my seeds in plugs in a dish with several other plugs. the water level in the dish should come to halfway up the plug, saturating the bottom, but not all of the plug. putting plugs in a dish with a little water at the bottom get them to sprout faster, and lets you add rooting hormone to the water; hence the sprout and form roots faster. once u see them sprouting 4 or 5 inches up transplant them to your hydro setup, being careful not to damage the new sprout.... A dome is a great idea. I use one for all clones and sprouts. invest in a small seedling tray with a high plastic dome. you should keep them under the dome until the are touching the top of it and need more room to grow. Just let them outgrow the dome, you dig? running your hydro setup when the plugs have not even shown roots yet is a waste of electricity, and water, not to mention that you have to continuously monitor the ph levels in the resevior every few days to keep from going to basic or to acidic. Its too much to hassle with when you are just trying to make them sprout.

the setip is acceptable for your first time and the amount of room you have. If you can, you should pull the power strip and whatever electric equipment u have off the carpet and mount on the wall next to you timer. Doing that may help you avoid a fire or damaging your carpet in case there is an accident + with Hydro, the opportunity to spill water on the electrical shit is omnipresent, you want to avoid getting the power strip wet as this might ruin all of your lights and shit.

youre supposed to soak them for 24 hours in a cup of water, then place them in a dark, humid, hot environment... generally in a moist paper towel, in a covered, not sealed pot above the frig. (wanna allow some airflow) Then just keep it moist and wait for it to germinate.

no ! just take them out of the rapid rooters and soak in water for 5or 6 hrs it will not hurt them they really need to be soaked so it softens the shell ,and they crack .if you se a root put it back down in there, you will have a bad germanation rate is all.once they crack they love the rapid rooters.

thats a nice light you got there, took some work to produce I imagine. If you want good results during vegetative growth just run it 24/7 initially. during vegetative growth, when i do what I'm recomending they will respond immediately with a burst of vigorous growth. I typically do this when I want them to speed up and right before flowering. I am also from Austin - Northside 183/35

ya but you will waste a plug trying to remove the seed from it, if that is acceptable then go for it otherwise just pull the plugs and let them soak in a dish with water no further up than half the plug, changin the water and refilling every couple of days until you see some action.
