random bagseed flowering under 241W CFL

Whats up everybody, I am a new member but been around different forums n such with other grows... but here's my first on RIU

I had 4 plants originally growing under roughly 290W CFL, then got spider mites, and ended up with one good plant that was hardier and already flowering... took away some bulbs, then hung a few around the sides of the plant today
I decided to try mighty wash, and with a strict regiment of spraying and watching, I think I've gotten rid of them from this single plant -FINALLY! ... tough little bastards.
Anyways, we're day 19 into flowering, I've been close to broke until now so things are getting taken care of ASAP... just put her in a 2 gallon fabric dirt pot a few days ago and just gave her a first dose of Foxfarm big bloom, 1Tbsp to a gallon. She's looking nice for how small the original container was, and she's lost all her old fan leaves to the first unsuccessful spray that killed my other plants. the dam ecosmart organic spray from home depot is what is was... n the main cola seems to be filling out decently, too.
so i just wanted to say hi and show everyone whats up with my 2nd attempt at gaining a green thumb.. lol

well good luck my man. If you have a won the spider mite battle of 2012, you already have some talent. everything looks ok, Ive found that replanting this far in flowering isnt going to greatly help your yield but it will help. Thats for sure. Keep the pics and posts coming. Gather a plethora of knowledge and do great things

Double up on lights next time. It takes the same 4 months to grow big pot as it does to grow little - and not much more juice with those CFL. Or get serious with one 400 to 600 watt HPS. Go big to grow big on air, containers and lights. Use good soil and lock the nutrients away for a while. Don't overwater. That is the #1 killer of any domesticated plant. Too much love.

Thanks guys, yeah i learned the hard way when i did my first grow about overwatering. this grow hasnt had that issue, i just had a very small container for a while and only recently did some renovations. I am still learning, and this grow is mainly for getting one complete one under my belt. after harvest i plan to sanitize and bleach everything, and start over with LED's. I have two identical cabinets and would eventually like to have one for vegging and mother, and one for flowering. still doing my research on LED's and have been doing shit tons of research on everything. I might be going with a 240W blackstar for each cab... not too sure yet but i like to see what other people have done with different things... my main concern is heat and stealth. these cabs gotta be able to look and sound legit from the outside and be very inconspicuous. but thanks again for the replies and i'll keep showing updates as they come along to me :)

ok so my bad, i guess i had been counting wrong. the plant is only 17 days flowering as of today... I hope I'm right when I mean it showed sex 17 days ago today. I am buying a new camera tuesday and cannot wait! Until then, I tried to get a decent up close pic with my phone, but it has no focusing so its crappy and blurry. I wish it could show all the trichs i see, still majorly clear at this point. I have a 45X loupe that i use to look up close. well, heres for now.

since feeding her with the foxfarm big bloom about 4 days ago, the oldest remaining fan leaves are showing rust spots and yellowing. I ended up flushing the 2 gal container with 4 gallons distilled water. I think that's my main problem right there. everything i have is organic and i have read that you shouldn't use distilled at all. So.. I now won't use distilled and my tap water sucks too (pH 8+, 700+ PPM) so now i'm thinking i can use the spring or drinking water from wally world instead.

I have also learned that I should have added dolomite lime to stabilize the soil a little better and I feel that would have helped with the deficiencies she's seeing now. Does anybody know if I use the bottled drinking or spring water, will that provide enough of the micro nutrients like calcium, magnesium and iron? I am just wondering cuz this is what she looks like as of now, making me a lil worried, any help please! :(
U can see all the trichs that are forming :D ...one thing that makes me happy

I found a 250W HID lamp by hydrofarm I think i'm gonna pick up. I'm running almost the same amount in cfl... I've seen some great things done with a 250W MH / HPS and I found this one locally for $60. I think I might compare it to an LED light I'm planning on getting soon too. So I'll keep updates rolling into RIU

hell yeah bro thanks, just picked it up today. killer deal. it's the sunburst convertible HPS / MH 250W. he gave me a 150W HPS and 250W HPS bulbs with it all for $60. Just need to go grab some hardware for hanging, and I plan on starting my next grow with the HPS and i'm gonna try to scrog a single or 2 plants in my cab. the dimensions inside are 28"w x 16"d x 36" h and i have two identical cabinets. i am currently shopping for an LED light for the other cab, and will eventually do comparison grows - seeing which fits my grow style better, and then eventually running both with my decision. so far I'm thinking around a 240W panel from blackstar or other retailers i've seen with 3 year warranty.

This grow is just blah... I'm watching the nugs fatten up daily, but it's kinda lame with a plant so small, and how many troubles i've already dealt with on this grow... it's almost been scrapped 2 or 3 times now, but i figure i should just get my first grow/harvest over with and use my knowledge to move on. She shows her deficiencies more each day on the remaining fan leaves, but sugar leaves and buds are hardly affected for now. She's really stinky and has quite a bit of trichomes. I'm guessing she's gonna give me somewhere between 5-7 grams is all, but like i said, this will be my first harvest. For all the hell she's been through she looks alright. getting some free random seeds from a buddy who's been hanging on to some- next grow(s) coming up soon, we'll see about a new journal when it happens.
wanted to show you guys my hood too, a little dirty but i can't complain for $60

thanks for stopping by, but actually the light has a built-in 250W ballast that can use either MH or HPS bulbs. I just need some ratchet rope hangers now, and gonna pick those up on amazon along with soil amendments and organic CaMg+ for my next grow. I am already making huge advancements in my process and planning now that I have some money to spend on quality product. I am going to use the same soil mix I have been, but I am adding dolomite lime for added pH buffering down the line, seeing as the grow was actually fine until early-flowering. I also will be adding Azomite to my mix, it's organic, cheap, and I have only heard good things. I will still be using distilled, but with the calmag and dolomite lime, I am hoping things will go a little smoother. I have also been looking into hygrozyme and biobizz biobloom. I might even pick up the biogrow just to be safe... anyways, I'll let you know when I end up starting the next. gonna go take a looksie at yours now! peace
