So I've had 2 plants which recently evolved into something else. The first one suddenly grew 3 leaves per node and the second one after what felt like 2 days of halted growth suddenly split into 2 tips.

Heres the first one:

Looks like Whorled Phyllotaxy but I thought those always had 3 leaves per node to begin with
The Selftopping one:

Not exactly sure what happened here, my guess is something happened to the tip and the plant just topped itself?

The member here named Sativied has seeds he was breeding that were Whorled Phyllotaxy and such. You should check out some of his old threads

So this occurs due to stress? wouldn't this be something desirable for LST & SCROG? one of the 4 nodes that resulted is trifoliate as well now
Trifolates do not yeild more, are slower and bud is generally not nice. Satieved has had some luck but i would disagree with it being desirable. Stress, calcium. environment etc etc are all things that affect apical dominance, use to be auxin controlled but plenty of studies cite sugar as the cause rather than auxin etc etc etc.

No it dosent yeild more although as hundreds before you have tried your welcome to find this out for yourself since you presently have one although generally they revery back to alterate growth from whorlled when things improve.

Some of mine from way back and this happened just as starting flowering...

A seedling having three cotyledons is just shit grow conditions when seed made possibly nutritional etc etc, stuff is common now and again.
