Receiving a letter from peru with coke

I have a friend in peru that wants to send me some peruvian coke in a letter.. i was just wondering how this works, can i get in trouble, and what are the security procedures used to scan for these types of things here in the USA.
 
Not necessarily... see how it works out.. people send illicit substances through the mail all the time... however, I think things coming from foreign countries are subject to a bit more scrutiny.

Think about it we all get seeds from attitude. Illegal? Yes.

That being said however if he's just sending it in a baggie or something that'd be stupid. Have him package it in with a bunch of coffee beans or something. MMMMMMMMM Peruvian Coffee! ;D
 
I regularly send Lophophora williamsii (peyote) plants and seeds to cactus enthusiasts in the US - it is illegal there. Never have any problems with them getting through.
 
Might be able to get away with it. I used to have boats of rolls(ecstacy) shipped overnight across the country and never got caught. Use a P.O. box and don't link anything to you.

If you are gonna have it sent, use some ingenuity in your shipping methods. A letter will work but it will easily be detected if singled out. How about putting it in a stuffed animal, or the hem of a shirt?. GL
 
ok i like the coffe beans idea. what are the consequences if they figure out it is coming to me? i heard the sender doesnt get in trouble the receiver does.

That doesn't make sense, you can't control who sends you what. Minimal risk on your side.
 
indeed that does seem like a logical assumption. im obviously not going to do this until i really do my research, but basically i need to learn alot and where can i find more information on this? +reps to ppl that have been helpful!
