Recommned a small 1000 watt metal halide bulb so it can fit in a smaller hood.

Got my ballast and 4 inch ducted hood with glass. It is about 4 inches short of being able to handle the long hortilux bulbs so I need to find another bulb/brand that will fit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Home Depot and the grow shop had nothing that would fit. HD didnt even have 1000 watt bulbs.

Hortilux are the same length of an hps as any other 1,000w hps bulb: ultra sun, eiko, sylavania, solarmax, maxlume, digilux, all the same height.

i recommend craigslist ing 60$ what your trying to fit it in and buying/making your own cool tube 90$

I'm fairly confident that the bulb Length is fairly standard depending on the Wattage of the bulb (as both my HPS and MH are the same length)
