I know this may not be the right place to post but as a medical patient in the US I know no one is informed as much as medical patients.

I heard that recreational is afoot in Canada, any new on when that'll happen? I'm planning a trip up to the VI B.C. in Febuary and I know I'd be insane to take my own herb. In the past you could go to vancouver and just find it (never tried on the island, only been there a couple times. So my question is rec stores going to open by than? Also drop me a pm if you live near Victoria or Duncan :)

our new PM said he will legalize it as a campaign promise and then said he's not sure how long or when. they have to study it first...to me that means years away.

My friend was in victoria a couple of weeks ago, and they were surprised that everybody they knew there seemed to have a dispensary card. Supposedly easy to get, so I would just take whatever medical paperwork you have from the USA, and your american ID/passport whatever, and try to get a dispensary membership with it.
The rec system up here is still quite a ways off I believe.

bring that but I think you can't have a card unless you are a resident...
that was what i was met with going to the US and asking the clubs in Washington. unless i was a resident, nothing for medical...

If your really worried your going to go dry, just make a side trip into the city (Vancouver) and hit a dispensary there. They are pretty much recreational, they paid $30,000 to become licenced and now have no real restrictions, limitations, and oversight into who they can sell to.

no licenses have been issued yet but there are around 40 in stage 2 and 3 of the process

You should have no problems getting meds on the island. We have more dispensarys than coffee shops. Hahaha. Just bring your card and stay away from the whale wall.
