Regular dirt from outside???

Is it possible to get massive plants outside using only soil from the backyard? I have nutes but no money for soil. Any help/suggestions will be greatly appreciated + rep

Depend on your land really. Do you see any vegetation around where you wanna plant? How does it look? Maybe you should begin to fertilize the land now? Ahead of time. Also start a compost heap to fertilize the land every couple months

I have them in 5 gallon pots outside

you dont have alot of time if u just started. but its alot of cheap soils out there just so ull know, kellogg patio plus is good. only $5 for a bag that would fill two of those 5 gallon buckets

they've been growing since the the middle of April... It looks like store bought soil , but w/o the perilite

The biggest issue with this besides being unsure of ur soil ph and if it has enuf nute in the soil to grow ur plant would be if the soil was somehow contaminated by sumptin, but if it looks good it should be ok, I'd say maybe add some worm castings and perlite if u can get some.

To answer your question.......yes. It is done all the time. You will grow smokable weed.....just not mag cover shit

Dude spend 10 bucks and get some organic potting soil and amend the dirt with that.. problem solved.

I bought 3 bags of "Supersoil" from Home Depot and amended my flowerbed with that and some 3 year old compost. I have been neglecting those plants and have only watered them 2 or 3 times this year and they are all still really green.....not very big but nonetheless healthy. Also if you were to amend your existing soil you might wanna look up a video on how to "Double Dig" if you do not have a garden tiller.

you waterd 2-3 times? how long have they been growing bro? Im need to leave 4 about a week but I think my plants would die on me with 7-9 days without water

They have been in the ground for about 5 weeks with only 3 waterings tops. I hardly pay attention to them. They also have had ZERO nute deficiencies. My big potted plants are getting deficiencies left and right it's hard to keep track of them because they are all different ages. I they are your only plants I would set up a ghetto watering system if your gonna be gone that long. Are they in pots or the ground??

2 years ago I left 2 of my plants for 3 weeks without water.. came back and they were way bigger than when I left

Depending on how much clay is in your yard you might be able too, i have clay in my garden but not in massive amounts, clay actually hold water fairly well, for example try digging a big enough hole in the ground fill it with fertilized soil and such, put your plant in the ground, and cover the top with a little bit of clay, just make sure when you water the plant the water can flush easily, and despise the fact that cannabis is a weed, it can grow in various amounts of places. Happy growing!

best to test it in a lab. easier to add soil amendments, like peat, perlite and too many other things i won't go into. cannabis likes moist, fertile, well drained soil. is your soil dark? does it stick together in a clump when you sqeeze it into a ball or does it crumble in your hand? is it red? (iron) if you are bringing it inside amend it to be safe. it's probably not porous enough. unless you're lucky enough to have an old leaf pile to draw from or alot of composted manure. you make the newbie mistake of thinking soil is DIRT. it isn't. it is diverse, alive, fertile and teaming with life and the minerals/elements cannabis needs for photosynthesis and making leaves, stems and the best part flowers.
